Dropped my youngest off for LSU spring testing this morning.

Far cry from how they did it when I went back in the Reagan administration. The whole thing starts off in the west stadium club. Legions of "LSU ambassadors" to show you around and take care of you. They haul you around on chartered buses.
Everything was so half arse when I went to LSU. I think I reported to some room in Lockett. They gave us a ticket to eat in Hatcher cafeteria.
Junior has already taken notice of the many fine ladies. Which is actually something, since he is coming from an all boys school.

Were you expecting a different outcome?

It used to be the same weekend as South Seas.

That’s when fraternities could actually have fun.

In 95 we amassed in The Cotillian Ball Room and were placed in groups then given instructions for the entire process. We roamed freely after that.
A friend shot a fire extinguisher off in our dorm room which covered it in a fine powder. He pleaded with whomever not to get kicked out of testing if he would pay for clean up and replacement of extinguisher.
I was still dusty from the event when I took the Latin exam and miraculously tested out of ten hours.

Congrats on discovering your kid isn't gay. Only took 18 years.

Spring testing allowed me to graduate early. I spent the night in Hodges Hall, I think, and ordered a pizza. Didn't eat in the dining hall. The LSU ambassadors gave us a walking tour, we didn't get buses. Me and a couple friends left the tour early though.

It's still SPIN to me, dammit!

Until a guy at Fiji tried to do a backflip off of their structure and broke his femur.

My oldest son is there too. I see they used the same key factor in deciding a college.

Fat millenials wouldn't make it on foot.

This. We got invites to various frat houses for the festivities. Finished our testing, put on a Hawaiian shirt and went and got blasted.

No one has ever accused Fiji’s of being bright.

Yeah it freaked me out last year too. It’s like they are going to a pampered teen day camp- very structured and affirming and child- like. We just got really drunk at Murphy’s at night and somebody pointed us to the quad the next morning and we figured it all out on the fly. I think we were too far in one direction and they are too far in the other.
