I have less problems going thru that construction zone than I do getting across the Mississippi River in BR. You should be fine. Use your Waze app.

No traffic but stay in right lane because they doing 80 in the left lane with very little room to pass you up

It’s about the same as it has been since around 1995.

I always go through Port Arthur because there's much less traffic, making it a more peaceful and less stressful drive.

Just drove that stretch the last few days.
People (baws in trucks and black dudes in Dodges) drive like frickin assholes through there. Concrete barricades on each side with no shoulders.

I just cruised in the right lane and took my time. Westbound yesterday had a bad multi car pileup that shutdown the interstate for miles.

Use Waze and Google Maps on your journey and that should help

At least it’s ahead of the construction for the BR loop.

I’d like to know the story of why that construction is eternal

If you’re pulling a trailer, good luck. 10-2 the steering wheel, pucker up your booty hole. It’s really narrow around the ford arena/goodyear plant.
