I love the Allen Edmonds oxfords, especially the Park Avenues. But I just can't justify >$300 for a pair considering my work environment.

I'd like something of a similar style for <$150. Any recommendations?

Maybe Johnston & Murphy, but you might want to go a little more expensive.

Try Magnanni. They have great shoes. I own a few pair.

The new soles on Cole Haan are a huge turn off.

In that price range, look at Florsheim Imperial.

FYI, consider calling Allen Edmonds and asking what they're selling Park Avenue seconds for. Usually very good prices on seconds and no noticeable issue.

I bust up my allen edmonds pretty badly, but you can get them completely overhauled for like 125 bucks. They look brand new, just broken in. New soles, re-finished, etc..

There's a gay guy at one of our offices whose really into shoes and he started asking me about the pair I was wearing and brought up that he buys allen edmonds off eBay used, and just gets them re-furbished. Nearly like having new pair of very high qiality shoes at half the price.

Cole Haans are usually pretty good for around that price.

If you search around ebay you might be able to find a pair of new Allen Edmonds for 150ish. My roommate last year got a nice, new pair of brown lace up AEs for less than that but I think that might have more to do with him wearing a small shoe size.

$35 at Payless

I went to the website to post them as a joke and was surprised that some of the stuff was actually good looking. Downside is they would probably fall apart within 3-4 wears.

I love Born shoes, but they are business casual. At least I've never seen any dress shoes.
