Are you insinuating that Elvis Presley wouldn’t have those type of numbers?
I'd guess E would be bigger, as he seemed to a wider fan base

The immediate thing that comes to mind when I think of Drake is that idiot who hopped out of his rolling car to do some dance to one of Drake’s songs only to have his face meet the front of a car driving his way. That was hilarious.

To show you how skewed single downloads aren't indicative of total success, the number one most downloaded song from the 1980's is Journey's Don't Stop Believing, a number driven up largely by it's airing on The Sopranos.

Cherry picked stats are cherry picked... I found this with a quick google search...

quote:

Michael Jackson -- 81 million units.
Billy Joel -- 82.5 million units.
Eagles -- 101 million units. ...
Led Zeppelin -- 111.5 million units.
Elvis Presley -- 136 million units.
Garth Brooks -- 148 million units.
The Beatles -- 178 million units.

And those are just album sales

Also I bet Garth woukd be higher if you could stream his music.
I dont know of an online source that has any of his music.

Being on family guy in the early/mid 2000s drove the come back popularity of Don't Stop Believing more.

I can honestly say I wouldn't know a single one of his songs including titles, wouldn't know him if I passed him in a narrow hallway, and that's actually encouraging to me given that stay. I'm happy to be so disconnected.

The main thing I think of when I hear Drake is The Drake. I hate The Drake.

How can you relate a stream to a sale? Lol, unless you are paying to specifically stream that song each time that’s absurd. That’s like comparing radio plays to album sales or something like that.

Is there an inflation percentage gauge somewhere to compare to when Apple Music and other music platforms didn’t exist and one had to go to the record store to buy an album?

Not comparable dude. No way you can account for inflation. Today there is a true global market and none of that big record promotion shite.
I think the goat would have to be Michael jackson, he was great his whole life. Dont know if there will ever be another artist like him.

Baws in here talking about Elvis and Garth Brooks (honestly I don’t think I could pick him out of a lineup) lame asses lmao.

But anyways, I highly doubt Drake has sold 220 million. I don’t even think that’s possible nowadays with all of the streaming services.

He hasn’t. Whoever made that stupid list included single sales and just totaled them. Says he has sold 18 million albums
