I was told that from day 1. First time I ate at the BR location the manager at the time mentioned it. Fat city confirmed. I’m assuming to some capacity that they wanted to make sure that it wasn’t a dumpster fire, as to why you saw Tommy.

isn’t that where the rumored BR Buccess was going to be?
—impossible in that location unless it’s gonna be the smallest Buc-ee’s in the US with the smallest Buc-ees’s parking lot
Which is exactly how a Buccees would be if one was ever built in BR. Half assed.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic but the building was originally built mid '80's for Photon which was laser tag.
The restaurant is 13,600 SF and has a current seating capacity of 500 people. That has to be a massive lease for the amount of business they can generate in BR.
Probably didn't help that they opened a month before they were shut down for Covid. (Speaking of overall ROI for past four years; not current business)

Factoring in the announced Lafayette location, the most obvious next location for a LA Buc-ee’s would be Hammond due to the intersection of I-12 & I-55.

Draco’s has struggled outside of Metairie / NOLA. It seems like they are having trouble “franchising” the concept.
Would not surprise me if they do not reopen

Did Ruston and Lafayette secede from Louisiana
The Buccees owners have not committed to anything

You really think a buccess would go put a location on college drive, the biggest traffic clusterfrick road in the city?
I said no such thing in any post.
They were supposed to build at juban in DS but that never came to fruition.
Should just go back to being FYE so i can sell my craps DVDs for beer money

Ive eaten at all the other oyster places and unless Baton Rouge is totally different- I couldn’t disagree more.
I’ve eaten New Orleans location atleast 15 times hosted large client events, Metairie dozens of times and Baton Rouge atleast 10 times.

That building was a Blockbuster then F.Y.E.
IIRC, it was originally it was a laser tag place called Photon. I remember getting my membership card there and think it was a newly built building.

Not sure if they want to have them that close but adding Hammond would make 4 locations with an hour and a half between each along the I-10/I-12 corridor (Lafayette, Hammond, Gulfport and Robertsdale locations)
Right now there's going to be 3 hours between each of Baytown, Lafayette and Gulfport

I still think it’s a good location, just haven’t had a good restaurant there
I agree it should be a good location but it's crazy how nothing has made it there long term

I used to go there as a kid. I was being nostalgic.

They don’t want to be specifically there for some reason(s).

Bucees was supposed to be millerville until 16 flood
Only buccees that would work there would be the small convenience store one like they have in Houston
Is juicy seafood expanding?

eta this was a rumor posted several months ago, is this the same location?
I'm sure most of us can't wait to visit the new Valley Park location of Buccee's.

Owners are getting more from a different business.
While the location is great, it was never really built to be a restaurant. It’s a huge building with a fairly small parking area. Was a furniture store, then blockbuster, then a music/CD store. When music/CD stores all died off it was jerry rigged into a restaurant.
I don’t think the building and parking are the right format for a restaurant.
