Brilliant strategy by the father. The cops will be preoccupied with his son while he takes off on foot to get away from the cops only they had him surrounded and it didn't work out quite the way he had designed his plans.

I think they should at the very least arrest the 16 yr old for truancy and let him stay in the clink until Tuesday, since Monday is Columbus Day.
