probably staying on the westbank route and getting off by O'keefe or St. Charles?

Or get off at Clearview and take Earhart all the way in.
The shutting down all of Poydras deal for all that time is inane beyond belief. Was that the plan even before this New Years Eve terrorist attack thing? I know they did that sort of last minute for the Sugar Bowl in response to it, but just for the day of.

Is the pedestal for the Lee statue still empty? That was always the trashiest part of NOLA to me

that way works as well. A bit sketchy but, what around that place isn't?

They are laying asphalt right outside the entrance to my parking garage..... at rush hour.
So cities today are spending untold amounts of money to put grass on top of high rises and other green "solves" for urban heat islands, yet these Southern cities are still paving their roads with jet black asphalt that you could fry an egg on in the summer.
Makes sense.

When you get down to it there are four primary indicators for city decline:
1) economic health
2) lawful
3) minimal corruption
4) competent leadership
Right now New Orleans fails all four. There’s no path forward when that’s the case.
From what I’ve read of Moreno she *MIGHT* fix item 4, but 3 is institutional/cultural and 1 & 2 are unlikely given her views on policing and her lack of understanding of how to drive capital investment via tax and other incentives.
So when Latoya goes to jail it’s incredibly likely New Orleans will still have three major factors working against it unfortunately.

She gave very high praise to Jeff Landry believe it or not, and to Troop NOLA and the help from the AG's office in prosecutions. She said they drastically need to figure out ways to increase the police force, and they need to get past the consent decree.
Could be lip service

My BIL works for an Engineering Firm that has been getting The Dome ready for two years.
They will be all puckered up hoping nothing goes haywire during the Super bowl.

Thats actually great to hear, what I heard from earlier sounded like MSNBC messaging.
If New Orleans can get the crime down to a sustainable level Tourism can thrive and businesses can at least consider putting down roots.

Damn, definitely 2 birds with 1 stone opportunity here. Need to find the contractor that can have INS give them a small reprieve to get this done

The city looks like a drunken college kid trying to put together a term paper in 36 hours.
And if it wasn’t for that snow storm we would have totally hit the deadline

Well, you better factor in delays you can’t control. A couple of days shouldn’t put you behind. A couple of weeks - yes. Work 2 crews or 3 crews. 2/3 shifts.
