Though many seem aware the daughter wasn’t there... so who knows how accurate that post was as far as what happened

Not that it changes much regardless

Exactly. From most accounts I can see the guy she was with was really a good dude though. Who knows.

The many people who posted Fri afternoon and said they were on their way down to meet up...gotta be a haunting feeling. Man, this story is just tough to look away from and swallow.

Being the noble, protecting guy in a situation like this just isn't smart. I wish we lived in a world where that risk was worth it, but it isn't.

And something else strikes me as weird...

They were both "repping" Chainsaw Bar. Were they at the bar simultaneously? It sounds like, and maybe I do not comprehend well here, that they were sort of taking their bar on the road...at the beach? Husband's last FB post was about Chainsaw giveaways.

I am just lost and how old dude had the nerve. I highly doubt he killed her because she left. He likely killed because she left and showed him her interest to move on with another.

Again, if she was scared of him...why post pics that would only amp him up?

Seems like they both owned the bar together. It wasn't that far from their house. The bar is also on the way to the beach.

There was also a post from her like 2-3 days ago where she's talking about how they're split up and how she doesn't want to hear about what he's doing or what he's up to, etc.

Obviously the guy had issues, but the social media postings to me didn't scream "woman afraid of her husband" (not that social media is typically a great insight into reality).

But this is what Adultery opens the door to. When you don't Take marriage seriously this happens.

Sorry, but about 1/2 of all marriages fail (and there is usually something adultery-related in there). People should take their marriage seriously, but it doesn't usually end in a murder-suicide when it falls apart. Her ex was obviously unstable or behaving in a way that gave her good reason to leave.

It also tends to add a ton of volatility— even if he’s not the new guy, having a guy there isn’t a great situation.

If you want to be the dude that keeps it safe, go with “you should meet him in public” instead of “I’ll be present at your sketchy hotel room meeting”

My father was 31 my mother 21 when they married. They were married 62 years.

Neither one was an adulterer or white trash.

Exactly. He's got his suspicions way up already. Of course, I'm guessing that in many of these situations the dude isn't thinking clearly (because he's pursuing the girl).

Reading the tea leaves - he likely had a temper. Her taking a deep dive into biker bar life while he’s still military likely led to a bunch of fights. How bad? Who knows. She references things he said but not things he did- so no sign of abuse but he killed her so wouldn’t be shocking.

Bars fun, homes not - later dude! She continues partying it up publicly and in shared social circles. He stews.

Whatever happened in Florida- who knows. But throw together freshly hurt feelings, booze, and bikers and things went bad fast. It could have been totally his plan from the start of his trip, or easily she could’ve gone over with her friend to send a message about leaving her alone. Odds are we will move on long before learning - but truly the big takeaway is to always err on de-escalating for the kid now without parents. Avoid creating volatility like the plague.
