I got an email today from the place I buy my gummies, letting me know they carry pet treats that will help with the fireworks tonight.

It has a sedative effect, like most "nerve pain" medications, so it is very commonly prescribed by veterinarians for animals that have flying/noise anxiety.

Nerve pain is very difficult to treat. The best pharmaceutical answer is Ativan, but is it is highly addictive for the weak.

I dislike Gabapenton for humans, due to the shifty side effects.

Which are finally becoming well-known:

I'd give 1/4 of the recommended dose, my recently passed cat (who was the greatest cat of all-time) was given a script for gabapentin and we only gave a 1/2 dose so that he was still able move around the house although a bit wobbly.

Anybody on here do that? I think I’d be worried Sally would react poorly.

Gummies aren't dose-specific.

I wouldn't give them to pet.

Benadryl, weight- proportionate, is a better answer

My daughter’s kitten has 100mg for when she has to travel with him.

He’s about 8 lbs … idk how much it helps but she uses that with Feliway spray and catnip treats. All of that and he looks stones after about an hour.

If you are talking about me, I have Rx knowledge.

I have been prescribed Gabapentin.

Also used to work as a pharmacy tech.

Lastly, I was a paralegal and was required to review medical records. I became proficient in injuries and what meds were Rx to treat same.

You's a smawt jazz [sic].

My dog...25 lbs....takes a combination of 100 mg Gabapentin and a 50 mg of Trazadone, for his hyperness. It slows his role.

My two favorite holidays used to be 4th of July and NYE, until me and my wife decided to get 2 German shepherds. Now I absolutely dread both

I'll be up until at least 1am tonight just trying to keep them calm, and that's with copious amounts of Xanax in them both, TV turned up loud, lights on, fans and heater going, everything I can possibly muster to drown out the fireworks.

I wish I could just explain to them that it won't hurt them, but even after 5 years of this they just don't get used to it and the true anxiety they experience is hard to watch

I give mine Benadryl. They usually go absolutely APESHIT over fireworks, but last night they weren't bothered by much other than the ones that are quite literally bombs and shake my whole fricking house.

Kitty was pretty chilled out last night. Slept in bed in a little ball all night. Forth of July we lost her outside as fireworks started up early, and she was well hidden, although freaked out as she was caught outside
