It’s rare for me. I used it when I was sick and didn’t feel like going anywhere.

Damn, you crave attention so much you picked a topic that was already discussed today and started your own thread on it?
Yikes

There's been multiple threads about drinking and driving with the usual "there's no excuse in this day and age." These deliveries seem to be better than the alternative if you haven't been to the grocery store.

I’ve used them some. Mostly when I just don’t want to cook or go out.
I did once DoorDash my GF some medicine to help her deal with her cold. She’s in New Hampshire and I was in Texas at the time. That was pretty cool to be able to help her from afar.

In a similar vein, my wife routinely uses up the last of her contact solution, contact cases, etc, etc. She figures it out at like 9pm. She's certainly not leaving to go to the store. I certainly don't want to go to the store. And for a few bucks I'll never miss, neither of us have to. shite's a no brainer for me

My wife and I use it all the time. Kids are grown and we both make 6 figures. IDGAF about spending an extra few dollars for the service.

I’m not sure which is worse, the folks who use it all the time or the folks who claim it’s dumb and never use it
I like getting out the house for a quick errand some nights.
Some nights I’m lazy/drunk and it’s a godsend

I order when I want Indian or Chinese.

I just used Uber Eats to order Chipotle. I drive 8-9 hours all throughout the day in traffic and talk for a living. The last thing I want to do is come home and make a meal. I want to relax and do nothing.

Exactly.
If you’ve never been in a situation where you needed restaurant food delivered to your door, you haven’t partied hard enough.
Guess what happens when girls at your party are hungry and you have nothing appealing. They leave. Or you DoorDash and the party continues.

never ordered food delivery, except pizza directly from the pizza provider. Never from a third-party.
The papa John’s in gulf shores/orange beach uses door dash. Brilliant from the franchisee’s standpoint. Sucks from a customer standpoint.

Had a family member that drove for grub hub when he was 18. Told me he would regularly pilfer fries and stuff out of the bags when he had the munchies. Never got caught or raised suspicion.
I have never used a food delivery service and never will.

Would have been a neat trick for him to eat my pho and spring rolls out of my sealed bag tonight

I use door dash 3 times a year or so.
Sick and want Pho.
At home with truck at dealership and don't feel like cooking.
shite like that.
As many have said, those who use it regularly are generally those who really shouldn't be from a financial perspective.

It’s for when you are feeling extra lazy
DoorDash is fine, but never use UberEats
After you are refunded so many times, they refuse to refund you at all
Absolute scam of a company
I even avoid Uber if I can help it and use Lyft instead

I think its kind of lazy, but I do use it for one thing. Every 6 weeks I get a Costco ordered delivered. Costco is 30 mins away if traffic didn't exist, but it does so it saves a lot of time having it delivered.
Yesterday the driver was annoying as shite. She was texting ever five mins "I am 20 mins away" "I am 15 mins away".. Then gets to the house, takes a picture and text it to me with "I am here". But I would never door dash to go have someone pick me up something to eat. Unless I was sick.

I assume they’re fishing for an extra tip when they do that
Just STFU and deliver my food
