Fresh fried turkey is decent.

Leftover turkey is complete garbage

Fresh turkey is alright but once it cools off, it loses all appeal for me.

This year we are having a smaller thanksgiving so the main dish is going to be the ham which I'm about to pull off the smoker. If I had to choose a bird for a main dish it would be something like wood duck. But that's the hunter in me talking.

Turkey is best for left overs, not the main course. The pig and the cow win that battle, regardless of the holiday.

Thanksgiving just reminds me that no one knows how to cook a bird right.

Good turkey is fantastic.

this is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. Maybe you should learn to cook a better turkey bro

Why do we continue to accept turkey as the main dish for Thanksgiving every year?

It's our way of giving thanks that we do do it only about once a year. I've had fried fish and crawfish etouffee for Thanksgiving recently also. Around my house all the trimmings you get with turkey you don't always get with most other meals.

Also, food slumming occasionally ain't a bad thing.

A good smoked turkey breast is definitely up there.
