Should make it 100% illegal to ever drink alcohol and then drive.. like not even a sip of beer, then get behind the wheel of a 3,000 lb weapon…

The problem here is that virtually every person responsible for rewriting the law to read that way likely all drink and drive pretty regularly, themselves.

Drunk drivers should have stiffer penalties imposed on them. 1st DWI lose license for a year. Pay for someone to drive you to and from work. Second is permanent. If you can’t respect innocent lives lost because of neglect, frick you
if you blow a 0.15 sure, but 0.08 is BS. That’s not drunk. Also, there should be BAC meters at bars that print out a certificate that you are legit. Finally, Lyft and Uber have to be allowed every where . Many cities and parishes block Uber and Lyft because the local taxi cab pissant has the local pissant politician in their pocket.

And they have other children and grandchildren but as a mother, no way in hell would that replace those killed.

And these were her babies. The youngest and only three that still lived at home with them.

The absolute worst aspect of this is that this person who hit them had had multiple DWIs at this point and was still walking free.

If Scruffy remembers correctly, he was sentenced to 5 years in prison in 2019.

If a judge let him off or commuted his sentence in any way, he should be charged with a crime.

At bare minimum, there should be protests and demonstrations in front of that judge’s home.

The majority of fatal car wrecks are from sober drivers.

Not saying you should drink and drive. But some of these people were shitty drivers regardless if they drink or not.

That truck driver in CO wasnt drunk and is getting 110 years.

If I remember correctly some European countries do this.

Germany the limit is .05 but the penalties get stricter when you are over .1 with possible revocation of your license.

Anyway with the holidays upon us, friends of TD.com please don’t drink and drive. If not for yourself, don’t do it for the harm that could come from it.

Have an upvote. Just a reminder that as bad as it is, killing someone is not the worst thing you could be responsible for. My sister is 57 years old, and mentally will forever be 8-10 years old. Drunk driver crashed into my mom and dad when my sister was 2 weeks old. Crushed her skull. My parents were told for 6 months that she would not live. Obviously she lived, but it is an existence I would not wish upon anyone, not Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, Obama, Pelosi, Hillary, anyone. Imagine living your life knowing you are responsible for such a thing. Imagine knowing that your desire to live it up for a few hours, cost a purely innocent baby a wretched existence, decade after decade.

It is. My dad was 19 and my mom was 17 at the time. Absolutely devastated their lives as well. You can't atone for something like that. You can be forgiven, but if you even approach being a decent person, you could never forgive yourself for doing such a thing. Don't put yourself in that position, folks. Call a friend, call a cab, whatever you have to do.

It is heartbreaking to think of this poor mother and her not knowing. Prayers that she receives the news in the correct manner and from the right person and God strengthens her so that she is able to persevere through such grief.

It makes your heart literally hurt thinking of the pain that family is suffering in addition to having to see the pain the mother is now suffering having been told of these extreme losses.

The empty house is a horrendous thought. I feel the other kids will be around as much as they can be to help them ease into this new journey together.
