the capt and crew get a slice of the pie, the angler(who is usually the boat owner) gets a cut and the rest goes to overhead for the trip and into the boat account

OP you could have a least posted the picture of that beautiful fish

This blue marlin was a mature female breeder, around 20-25 years old. She was probably on her way to the Florida Gulf Stream or Cuba to mate

Checks out, Cap. You landed that well.

Donny had a dream when he was stocking shelves as a kid.

What do they do with the fish after weigh in? Is marlin edible?

you might die of fricking mercury poisoning after, but yeah, it's edible

probably, like most other people, they send it to a taxidermist and get it mounted

Yes, its edible...mostly the meat is donated to charity, and the fish is measured and then mounted

I had seen that on the Hurricane Hole Marina Facebook. I couldn’t figure out if they truly won a tournament or not.

It’s been a long time but I remember Marlin being served in restaurants in Hawaii.

What is the mercury content compared to swordfish?

Had it in St. Lucia. It's not bad. Very dark red, almost beef like.

Someone fire the Captain and Crew for Mollie. These boys have been a huge disappointment this year and probably should take up bowling.

It’s the World Cup tournament. July 4 based on ur time zone every year. One day who ever catches the biggest blue marlin. Couple of years ago the Done Deal out of Houma won it. That’s back when Jason Buck was the captain and the Done Deal Team fished hard and had a crew from all over the world.

You don’t mount the actual fish. You pull measurements and send the measurements to a company like Grays taxidermy and have a replica made.

I paid $3k for one of my replicas

Most ppl do cut the bill off the fish and dry it out and cure it and use it for decorating

You don’t send off a dead fish to get mounted
