Obama or Trump? Regardless, I agree. But Obama at least did what a President is supposed to do in this situation, and that's allow Federal aid to start flowing. I don't want him or any other politician coming down for a quick photo op to push their political bullshite in the face of such strife. What exactly would Obama strolling through ravaged neighborhoods and taking pictures accomplish? I mean, besides put a further strain on law enforcement having to protect the damn leader of the free world. Would it really make you feel better that he's here if you think he's such a schmuck?

Obama is taking a lot of slack for not personally visiting and with the amount of media coverage Trump generates, he is sure to bring more attention to Louisiana's plight. That will lead to more support from the rest of the country in one way or another.

Considering your president has yet to even consider coming off vacation to visit the ravaged areas, it means a lot.

Is this supposed to be some kind of boom?

He's your president too, buddy, and I didn't vote for him. My only point is that he's done the only thing of actual substance a President can really do in this kind of instance. If his paying lip service and "leaving his vacation" means that much to you, you're probably a simple-minded dolt.

I'll ask again, what would his coming to Louisiana accomplish other than wearing out law enforcement even thinner? I'm sure you'd deplore his visit as a political grandstanding opportunity anyway. Fun stuff. Politics FTW.

For one, it would be nice if he actually made a legitimate statement regarding the devastation since he was so quick to make statements regarding Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin and Alton Sterling...

Sure, I'll buy this. I didn't like him taking any kind of stand on those incidents one way or the other. Nothing to gain and only serves to divide. But I guess I don't put much stock (relatively speaking) in politicians blowing smoke, whether it's something I agree with or disagree with. Maybe that's why him "not leaving his vacation" or "making some kind of statement" doesn't bother me. He took action with regard to Federal aid. Job done.

Considering your president

This is pathetic and part of the problem.

Its one thing to not support a certain candidate, but once someone becomes president of the US, they are our president. You might not always agree what they support, but they are still our president.

If you are going to hold the president responsible for doing shite you don't like, you have to at least hold congress responsible as well.

Ive been in the two Trump threads on the OT. Is this what the political board is like? What I mean is, can you not have a conversation in which everyone at least respects each other's opinion without people resulting to calling someone names because they don't like what someone said?

Trump is getting out coached with the game on line.

He oughta be attacking Hillary about the lying and the breaking of her oath to her country re: her security clearance, among other things.

Instead, he is playing defense and constantly having to change campaign managers.

I don't see any way he wins.

Well mother fricker,

Obama the Boy Emperor after some disaster or another criticized Bush most harshly for not doing a tour.

He's probably is just doing it to do what the dip[shite in chief thinks is proper.

You shitasses post like history doesn't exist.

Handing out toys out of the back of a truck is certainly a photo opportunity, but I'm not going to dog on anyone handing out toys regardless of their political intention.

That's the thing with this guy. He just doesn't have what it takes to run a country. To some degree you have to be diplomatic and he can't do it.

Honestly, I think to some degree, he made it as for as he has. I think his original goal was to play a factor in making sure a particular candidate doesn't win the republican primary (I assumed Jeb Bush, just because I think Bush blocked Trump from building something in Florida, while he was the governor.. Or something like that), but the more he got up and started mouthing off about doing this and doing that, people started to rallying around him.

It would not surprise me if he doesn't even want to win the election. Like you said, he should be attacking the hell out of Hillary Clinton. You find weakness then pounce on it and he has not done it. He did when he was running for the republican primary, he pounced on every candidate that was somewhat a threat to him.

Speaking of simple minded, if you don't think this state could use every little bit of attention it can get right now, you are the idiot.

Obama coming here would draw attention and media coverage and ultimately bring more help and donations that these people need.

Instead he couldn't be bothered to step away from his golf game.

He wants to win-he's Trump.

It's just hard to attack from a defensive position.

Not true.
