Both have souls. Treat them that way. Or I will rudely overturn your slushy at Sonic.

We banished them once to the sea, we can do it again!

While in college I did respite care for a family with a child like that little guy. His mental state never advanced beyond about that of a 6-month-old but he was charming and communicated by smiling.

Sounds like they are communicating.

What if we are the disabled ones?

I wish I could get a better explanation as to why there is childhood disability, other than it being a part of some "plan".

If there is anything I wish I could do in my life is to figure out a way to prevent or cure childhood disabilities.

Autistic people are more intelligent than “normal” folks.

Yeah, I think people believe this because they need a reason why certain things happen.

Bottom line, it's all biological. In some cases both parents have a certain trait that if the right sperm gets into an egg will cause the offspring to have certain type of limitations.

Of course they would. The Miami Dolphins have been disabled for the better part of two decades.
