WNDU article

“I apologize for us closing AGAIN. My 2 new cashiers quit because I said their boyfriends couldn’t stand here for their entire shift.”
“Don’t hire Gen Z’s. They don’t know what work actually means. NOW HIRING! *Baby Boomers ONLY, thanks!”

The store is not going to be very productive with a bunch of arthritic and demented 60-80 year old Baby Boomers manning the cashier station.
Might I suggest Xers and Millennials?

Glad he got what he deserved. This is why young people are having trouble finding jobs and making a living. Have you ever considered letting your employees act differently than you would run your own household? These aren’t little kids they’re adult employees. I’m sorry if they didn’t conform to your exact unnecessary and illogical standards.
And I’m sure the boyfriends were buying things making them customers. What moron business owner throws paying customers out with his employees? Seems like a quick way to lose your business.

Capitalism is such a beautiful thing.

Lol. Adult employees don't bring their boyfriends to work. Your user name checks out, because everything you posted is nonsense.

Generation Z includes any person born between 1997 and 2012 or someone who is between 9 and 24 years old.
We have child labor laws and elder abuse is a big problem in this country no one should make their child or boomer parents work at a dollar tree.

I can think of a few businesses that would hire him today.

I'm not completely dismissing the possibility that this manager isn't some "Get off my lawn, Zoomer!" type who had a disproportionate and unreasonable reaction to the cashier chit-chatting with customers.
(Edit: Bremen, Indiana has a population of <5,000. Cashiers in small podunk towns shooting the shite with patrons (both paying and non-paying) and the grocery/convenience store being a hang out isn't exactly something that was invented recently.)
...But, do we know if the boyfriends were paying customers? If not, that chit-chatting can get out of hand quickly if you have actual paying customers in line.

I mean, it's a thought. I wonder if the manager ever considered this?
Posted on 4/24/22 at 1:15 pm to tss22h8
Now they have no employees and no manager. I bet that store is currently closed.

Typically no but I did have this happen at a gas station I used to go to.
The chick’s loser arse boyfriend was always in there. You could tell she was scared of him too.

They'd probably rather stand around for free than get paid for minimal work.
