I doubt this makes it to trial, but this is one jury I wouldn't mind serving on.

The father of a Monroe man who was shot and killed in January by a Dollar General store clerk during an alleged armed robbery recently filed a lawsuit against the shooter and DG Louisiana LLC.
On Jan. 2, an armed robbery took place at the Dollar General store on South 8th Street. The store clerk, Rafus Anderson, 30, of Monroe, shot at the suspect, Marquarius Thomas, in response to the robbery.
According to the January arrest report, Anderson’s shot fatally wounded Thomas and injured one customer. Monroe police found Thomas north of the store, lying amid the money stolen from the store.
Anderson told officers he shot the suspected armed robber because he feared for his life during the robbery. Because the suspect continued to flee the store, Anderson claimed he did not realize the shot struck him.
According to Anderson, this was the sixth armed robbery at the Dollar General store since August 2022. He informed officers there had been four robberies and two attempted robberies.
In his lawsuit, Johnson claimed Anderson willfully harmed the suspect as he was leaving the store.
The lawsuit also alleged that DG Louisiana LLC had knowledge the Dollar General store on S. 8th Street had a “history of violence,” making the company liable. DG Louisiana LLC owns and operates the store.
In the lawsuit, Johnson claimed he had incurred several expenses as well as emotional pain because of his son’s death.

This is why businesses close in black neighborhoods. Then they cry racism.

Is just trying to get money and likely doesn’t care about his deadbeat son.

And just like that, money heals all grieving

It's in Louisiana. It's not going very far.
Now New York or California is another story.

DG Louisiana LLC
... and now you know the real focus of the suit. Dude probably doesn't even have a relationship with his son

They don't close for this reason, they close more often because they are horribly unprofitable.

The legal system is where they'll frick over gun owners. They're desperately trying to take away your right to self defense and protect the criminal.
This is progressivism.
