I have an upcoming business trip and will be needing a place to board my Lab.

I was thinking about a doggy daycare so she can play with other dog during the day.

Any suggestions?

Camp Bow Wow is your answer.

The have a location at airline and pecue. And one in Prairieville on old jefferson.

all dogs are required to have up to date shot records. Web cams so you can check in on them.

"suites" with tv and web cams.

Not sure about that part but, i would think they can handle it. Probably best to call and confirm.

If she requires shots, I would board her at a Vet clinic that has daycare like Highland Road Animal Hospital.

I don’t want her locked in a cage all day.

Dog Daycares are really concentration camps for dogs. If only y’all realized what goes on once you leave your pet at the daycare...

I second camp bow wow. You need to bring your pup in for an hour a few days before you leave so they can screen it first. $45 over night is what we pay at the one in Nola.

If she doesn't already have shots, vets might not give her the shots and then allow her to immediately be boarded. Mine won't. If you want to board your animal, my vet requires documentation that the shots were given far enough ahead of boarding for the vaccinations to have become effective.

As long as they can cover the shots (I am sure they can) I agree with Camp Bow Wow. You can go look at their live cams now and see the dogs playing. They have luxury suites where you can watch your dogs when they are lounging too.

Then any number of local places should have staff able to give medications and provide what you're looking for. In addition to the places already mentioned, there's Dogtopia in Towne Center if you're more on that side of town that has all the common play rooms, trained staff, webcams, private time, etc.

Like someone else said, start contacting the places you'll consider now as they often require you to visit with your dog and bring all her documentation so you can see their facilities and they can get your dog cleared to be boarded, assess her age, health, general size, temperament around other dogs and people, etc., so they can put her into the right part of their facility when you do board her.

Since your dog has some serious health issues, don't forget to ask them what their access to veterinarians is in the event of an emergency.
