Just so sad that a seemingly innocent animal loses his life for no reason or because an owner didn't protect him. I am 66 years old and can not even count on one unhand when I have seen a really mean or aggressive dog that would hurt someone. Mainly, they are happy to run and roam.

My driveway is pretty close to the property line. I hope I don’t get shot for trespassing. You know, shoot first ask questions later when it comes to lawbreakers

I live in a neighborhood where people did not keep dogs contained.

I jog with my dog everyday and I carried a t-ball bat. I had two American bull dogs attact my dog and they took 3 to 4 hits a piece to get them to back off and run home.

I am OT 6'6 220 so IRL 6'3 250. So I can swing a bat well.

My dog got pretty tore up during the ordeal.

I now jog with a machete. My first option will be to use nonlethal force, as I like dogs and animals in general, but if I need to gut a off leash dog who is attacking my dog I will.

Stray pit was seen in my neighborhood pretty frequently. It eventually mauled and killed my neighbors Mountain Feist. It passed through my back yard on occasion. I had small kids at the time and ended up shooting the dog and burying it in the woods.

There was also a yellow lab that lived 1/2 mile away that always broke free from its fence and came to our neighborhood. Friendly and playful and the kids loved when she would come. The dog was named Marley (tag ID). I had to call her owner once a month to come get her and several times I just took her home after an hour or so.

Bad threatening dog- I executed
Good playful dog- I watched after

Really not that hard to delineate between the two.

It wasn’t really a nice thing to do, but you’ve got to keep your dogs off other people’s property.
And seems rather appropriate for MS.

Seems like a dickhead thing to do and if this was an isolated incident where the dog got out and was wondering. There are many unknowns to make a proper judgement ,but the only way the property owner is justified is if the dog was on his property and a threat. That would be the only way he is justified in that scenario and something tells me that is not the case.

This right here is the problem. In the area near me someone was walking their (smaller) dog on a leash and there is a d-bag neighbor who lets his dog run around. The free dog (much larger) attacked the little dog on a leash (who was being guided by an older woman who obviously could not fend off a large dog) and killed it. Similar incident happened to a cat.

Don't give a frick how much someone loves their dog, if they refuse to keep it contained and it attacks a pet or a family member then I'm doing whatever I can, including killing it, to protect my own. Same applies if the derpy owner subsequently comes after me in some moronic fit of revenge.

TLDR: Stop being lazy and inconsiderate and leash your dogs.

There is probably not a dog owner alive who has not at some point had his dog run away. To kill somebody’s dog , with no real information on the dog or who it belongs too, indicates a person who may enjoy being cruel and sadistic. frick this guy and frick anybody who hurts dogs. Dogs are a true gift to humanity, and if you can’t appreciate them , chances are you live a pretty bleak and unenlightened life.

Good dogs are a gift to humanity. Bad dogs need to be shot. Without any background, we dont know which one this was.

People who keep bad dogs because they arent grown enough to deal with them are as much of a problem as those who shoot good dogs just because it's legal to do it.
