I dont believe cattle should be blowtorched to death while alive.... or have their body parts hacked off while they are still breathing b/c of some mystical belief that it gives me strength that the animal is suffering.
I dont like that dogs and cats are eaten but I realize that is my cultural bias. It is the tortuous ways in which they are slaughtered I have an real issue with not necessarily the consumption and that some of these animals are pets stolen from families.

Have you seen some disturbing videos of cows being slaughtered? That's almost exactly what happens in some places.
Also, I know I throw live crawfish into hot boiling water. I don't think twice about their suffering.
I think horse owners would be horrified that Canada loves them some horse.
It's easy to take some horrific stories from a group of bad seeds and generalize the entire population, but most Asians would be disgusted by what was posted in the OP. Bad people are bad people. We have them here too.

I read the article and realize its not all Chinese and there is a growing push within China to end the practice.
