Well, I've been drunk for 10 months and haven't gotten it yet. So....I'd say yes.
It could just be anecdotal and mean absolutely nothing, though. Nah....

Friend,
There are several ways, including causing aspiration, that alcohol puts people at risk of pneumonia. Below are several:
1. Reduces cough reflex
2. Reduces the protective function of cilia to whisk away antigen
3. Reduces alveolar macrophage and cytokine function
4. Increase oxidative stress
5. Increased permeability of the cells that line the lungs, leading to higher risk of significant cell damage during infections.
In short, alcohol significantly increases your risk of developing pneumonia. It may seem funny to joke about, but sadly some people here will read this thread and their takeaway will be that they should drink alcohol or perhaps they will do so defiantly as a show of machismo foolishness. Don’t be led astray, my friends. Say no the the world’s most deadly drug, alcohol, the destroyer of communities, families, and individuals.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

I think wine must too, no other way to explain how I’m exposed 20-30 times a week and haven’t caught it unless masks truly work
