There is a huge list here with nearly $1 billion in overdue projects.
LINK to list of projects
The largest are as follows:
$52 million to four-lane Pecue Lane from Perkins Road to Airline Highway and add an Interstate-10 interchange
$51 million to add lanes to Airline Highway from Bluebonnet Boulevard to the parish line, and $44 million for more lanes on Airline from Florida Boulevard to I-110 (long overdue IMO)
$50 million to four-lane Hooper Road from Blackwater to Sullivan roads
$42 million to four-lane Nicholson Drive from Bluebonnet to Ben Hur Road, and an additional $19 million to four-Lane Nicholson out to the parish line (partially funded already)
$38 million to four-lane Wax Road/Magnolia Bridge Road from Sullivan Road to Greenwell Springs Road
$35 million for capacity and turning improvements on Lee Drive from Highland Road to Perkins Road (continuous Center turn lane and sidewalks).

DONT FORGET THE MILLIONS WE'RE SPENDING TO REMOVE 2 LANES FROM GOVERNMENT STREET. THAT WILL EASE THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC

Those will all be over schedule and over budget.

Probably, but I would be happy if they got 70% of them done.

The $50 Million 4 lane Hooper from Blackwater to Hooper is already a project in the Capital Outlay Bill for DOTD.

Strange. I dont see the words "loop" or "bypass" in there.

This isn’t possible in BR. There’s that much to fix

I noticed they will still keep nicholson inexplicably at 2 lanes between Burbank and Ben Hur

That money is already allocated.

The majority of the Green Light projects got done. And that particular plan had essentially showed how far behind BR has been with its local infrastructure, and how another comprehensive plan is needed just to not to fall back so far behind again.

Swamp traffic.

I can see jackasses flying down the continuous turn lane to get ahead of everyone and then probably killing someone.

I dont see bombing BR flat and moving LSU to New Orleans, so put me in the "not far enough" column.

EBR taxpayers shouldn’t be paying for it by themselves.
I hate Broome, but I think the projects her admin has put together are needed.

I think that’s already funded.

The project will cost $11.7 million, which was the low bid from Barber Brothers Contracting Co. Federal safety funds amount to $5.4 million; the city-parish has kicked in $4.2 million in road transfer credits; the state has provided $1.1 million; and the project received $1 million of Americans with Disabilities Act funding.
It is not designed for traffic flow it is designed to slow traffic.
People on this board complain about blight, run down areas, nothing to do for hipsters or millenials etc...yet when the city tries to do something to help an area these same people complain about that. Bunch of dontdonuddens around here.
And I suspect the majority of those complaining seldom use Government Street and if you can’t figure out how to navigate around I suggest just staying home.

It's in the Kip Holden plan

That would be a major downgrade...
You meant to say Covington or Mandeville.. nobody wants to move shite to Nola. In fact, they might as well blow up the super dome and move it to the north shore. It’d be better off.

For decades EBR has been shortchanged.
Neither the Feds(who designed the 10 mess we have now) and the State who didn't give us much from the TIMED plan, are doing much To help us so now we are reduced to continuously upgrading local state and federal highways.
Sad situation really.
I also see the pols want a huge some for "enhancements" (code name for slush fund) and for traffic synchronization which we have already been promised, but not delivered. This is another grab bag of money to funnel to some engineering firm, consultants and campaign donors.
We need to vote down any plan that creates these large flush funds, we need to have a review of GL1 as to what's left to go there, and we need to see if we can get federal dollars to do more of this work.
The devil is in the details.
