Does NASA or powers that be have a plan in place incase a large asteroid comes to earth?

I watched Deep Impact earlier today. That movie came out in 1997 and Armageddon came out in 1998. After 24 years, I would hope there was a plan put into place if that ever happened. Does NASA or the higher ups that be make a attempt to have something in place or are we going to have to rely on these guys?

They probably have a plan for themselves, the rest of us get to see if there’s an afterlife or not

Yes, they'll use lasers to alter the path of objects to avoid catastrophe. They can slightly alter it enough to have it just pass by earth.

Legalize drugs and prostitution and give out an end of the world stimulus check.

They will make it illegal for asteroids to land on Earth thus avoiding the catastrophe.
Dude, we can't stop something like that.

Probably going to vaccinate that thing. Seems to be the rage.

Biden will issue an EO banning asteroids from hitting the planet

Let’s start another vaccination thread

At this point I'm praying for a mass extinction event.

They will cancel and deplatform the asteroid on the grounds it's unfairly targeting marginalized communities
That'll show it
That'll show it

Theoretically, it is within our ability to deflect an asteroid the size of the K-T impactor with nuclear explosions until it is off its collision course.
The problem is that these rocks are small in the grand scheme of things, and as BBT says in Armageddon “It’s a big arse sky.”
We would never be able to send a deflection mission to the asteroid in enough time.
There’s also no way to stop a Texas size asteroid like in Armageddon. You would need a bomb 100,000 more powerful than the Tsar Bomba to affect an object that size.

they used the common cold to institute more total global control, i'd hate to see what they did with that scenario
