Just had to sell my 2021 Mazda 6 to consolidate family vehicles. I thought it was a great vehicle for the price and hated having to sell it so prematurely.

Does Ford still own Mazda?

We got a 2018 Atlas that’s got a lot of room and it’s fun to drive, but some of the parts are real cheap. The cover for the seat lever in the 2nd row broke on both sides. I’m pretty sure it’s a warranty part, but I haven’t taken it in yet. The seats still fold down, it’s just the outer case that broke. Otherwise, we love it.

I have a 2011 CX-9 with 200,000 miles that still runs like a top. I have never had a major problem with it.
Would definitely recommend.

I have an 18 cx9 GT. I thought the GT had an overall better value than the Signature. I went with the AWD because it snows where I live and I have gone through some pretty bad spots without getting stuck. The third row is small, it's pretty much for kids. I regret not getting the second-row captain's chairs. Overall for what I got at the price point, I got it at. It was the best car for the family. I would put it at the 3rd best overall 3 row SUV

I rented one for a week last summer and it was great. Denver to Vail.

No, hasn't in a long time.
If anything new Mazdas and Toyotas will be identical

I drove an MX-6 in the 90's. I was going to buy a new Accord that was an 91 model in December of 1991. The Mazda salesman called me back and gave me a free oil changes and tire rotations for life. The Mazda was really a better deal, as it was a 92 model and had a better warranty.
It was much faster than the Honda's and Nissan's I'd driven before then. From graduating from college, until I retired in 2010, I always drove Japanese cars with five speed standard transmissions. This Mazda with the six cylinder engine was the most fun car I drove. It's great acceleration reminded me of the 69 Mustang fastback with a 351 V8 and four on the floor a buddy drove in college. It was the closest thing to that I ever owned.
I think I kept it for around eight years. For the last couple of months I owned it, it would run hot in the summer. Mechanics told me the engine needed replacing. I had already bought a Honda Civic that got around 30 miles to the gallon for work. It wasn't as fun to drive.

Ford and Mazda divorced and Toyota hopped in bed with Mazda.
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., (Aug. 13, 2020) – Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, (MTM), the new joint-venture between Mazda Motor Corporation and Toyota Motor Corporation, announced an additional $830 million investment to incorporate more cutting-edge manufacturing technologies to its production lines and provide enhanced training to its workforce of up to 4,000 employees.

Bought a new 2016 AWD CX-5 not quite 5 years ago - last ‘16 on the lot so I got it for a song.
Other than having to fork over a grand for a wheel replacement when some dickweed forced me into a curb when they decided to go straight through the intersection from the left-turn only lane, it has been just oil changes & routine maintenance for 65k miles.
Couple of quirks, like the nav system is pretty crappy and there are no cupholders in the backseat, but otherwise I’m happy. First time Mazda owner, will probably trade it in on the sportier CX-30 in another year or two.

Mazda's main issue right now IMO is they are way behind on infotainment compared to others.

I’d recommend a Sienna over any useless third row “suv.” I absolutely love mine.

Mazda got a bad wrap bc of the rotary engine they put into the RX models. Rotaries are amazing, but lack reliability. Mazda took a hit all the way across the line up as a result.
Mazda’s are actually better equipped, and offer better quality then Toyota does.

It’s pleasing to look at but to me it just feels more cramped on the inside than other third row midsize suvs.

My 2016 CX5 has almost 240,000 miles. Check engine light has never come on and ZERO problems. New brakes every 100k or so, tires about every 70k, and synthetic oil (since new) every 10k. Oh, and serpentine belt changed at 150k just for PM. Still feels tight and is rattle free.
