Yes. It matters.
Socially
Economically
Quality of Education (exception for magnets or just REALLY good public school systems)

It matters how you are raised.

There is definitely a difference. Private school in New Orleans like Jesuit is a lot different from inner city public high schools.
But it’s mostly because of the students.

I have not nor will I probably ever. I'm a Metairie guy. It's a bit out of my way and my nugget is only 17 months old, so no school until 2021. We will be forced to do private school living on the S. Shore.

Better drugs in private schools.

No I addressed both
Coaches gave a shite more in private because a lot were volunteers and wanted to do it. Public they halfed assed it because its part of their job.
Teachers were about the same. Honestly didn’t think it was a big difference

I went to a 5a public school. It wasn't that bad then, even though a student shot a teacher my freshman year.
No way I would send them now to that school.
Though the new charter schools with A ratings aren't bad...... yet. They ate starting to let bad kids in.

If it’s not public, it’s private. The parochial vs non-parochial determination is a condition of a private school.

Public school if you preferred skunk weed
Or maybe that was just the 80s
Late 90’s and early 00’s too.
I went to public and graduated with as many professionals as my wife did at a catholic school
And I know plenty of people who paid 50-100k to put their kids through private school to see them go turn wrenches offshore

In MS the good private schools (emphasis on good, there are a lot of terrible ones) better prepare students for college because their curriculum is not handcuffed by state test standards. Public schools teach to a test.
The MS Gulf Coast has some of the best schools in the state by any standard. My daughter goes to the most expensive private school in the state and honestly I’m anything but impressed by their curriculum.

How you are raised is the biggest factor, but if you look at the stats, it matters. It matters less about public vs private and more about being around other high achievers.
