No place in America tries to make itself an outdoor mecca despite so little naturally interesting stuff as Austin
Kudos to them for building the culture, but we all have eyes here

Pretty amazing to see it driving up 71/183 vs. what it was before 2014. It’s Houston and Dallas level in size but with better architecture.
Also, Houston has prairie in the west, the Piney Woods in the north with some slight hills around Conroe, and marshes, swamps and beaches to Galveston. There’s your diversity, even though the city is among the worst major cities in terms of geography.

West of the city is arid and borderline desert.
That's just the Edwards Plateau, but it damn sure isn't arid. You have go to go West Texas to get into that type of climate.

Exactly what I was going to say. I'm not sure this guy has ever even been to Texas.

This is factually incorrect Hill country is north south and west of Austin.it entirely encompasses it.
East is a bit of coastal Texas (Bastrop, Giddings, etc.)
Brady, Eden, San Angelo area has Hill Country, High Plains, South Texas Scrub, and desert all within an hour.
