Thanks a lot, mine hasn't bothered me in months, you reminded me and now it's all I hear. Seriously, long term solution is to have as much quiet time as possible, I know, they say "white noise" helps, but quiet heals.

It does fade into the background after a while, just close your eyes and think of England. I called the tinnitus hotline, but it just kept ringing.

Sound machine at night with ear plugs (Brown Noise on Alexa for me). Have a radio on at work. It's much worse in silence.

My wife had awful tinnitus for an extended period of time. Couldn’t sleep, caused severe anxiety and depression. She ended up finding Rewiring Tinnitus by Glen Schweitzer. It helped her tremendously. Best of luck.

Cover you ears with both palms with your fingers going to the back of your head. With your fingers now at the back of your head, at the base of your skull, start tapping. Like playing a drum. Do that with multiple fingers. For a couple of minutes.

This will TEMPORARiLY relieve symptoms.

I have a mild case of tinnitus. Its sounds exactly like it sounded many years ago, when I was a young buck, after playing live music with the volume at 11+. lol

I’ve had it for over thirty years. Sounds more like a constant chorus of cicadas. Sometimes louder than others. I’ve asked several doctors over the years and every one has said nothing will fix it.

I have had tinnitus for most of my adult life from too much loud concerts, duck hunting and my job as a diesel mechanic. Most of the time, I can ignore it….but the ringing is always present. There is no cure.

Mine is music self inflicted over the years and I try to play it safer now days. It’s not super high pitched but it’s always there. If there is other noise going on, my auditory processing issues kick in and I really don’t notice unless I think about it. It’s partly why I leave the TV on when going to sleep.

It’s sucks to have but it’s had a strange positive side effect with music for me. I’ve lost very high frequencies in my hearing but that doesn’t bother me because I don’t want to hear those. The rest of the frequency spectrum sticks out better now for some reason. I can pick out every little thing in a music mix and it’s a huge plus playing music on a noisy stage. Can’t explain it. It may be like when you add distortion to bass it will stick out more in a mix. That tinnitus could be causing a similar phenomena.

I've had it all my life and if someone mentions it, I get it badly.
But usually, I can just tune it out.

Tinnitus is 100% in your head so the solutions are mostly psychological

What about causes?? Does anyone suspect their tinnitus is caused by a medication? Like Lunesta??

No, my friend, you’re just going to have to get used to life with it. I’ve got it, had it for years, and you just have to deal. Most of the time I don’t notice it, but when I catch myself hearing it (like right now), it’s loud.

Had it for years. Nothing I’ve tried has helped. Possibly watching your salt intake may make it a little less severe. I’ve gotten used to it.
