Knowingly being told to find any reason to extort money through a municipal court isn't something a lot of people admire. It's hard to back the blue when it's all a front for green.

I certainly don't admire it. I'm speaking from the position of the patrol cop.

The backwoods bubba gump cops are the worst for bullshite traffic stops. If they don't recognize you, then you are fair game for their shenanigans, like saying you were speeding when you weren't. You're fricked, what can you do but pay up.

those cretin motherfrickers.

Well, you either pay a fine or go to jail and serve time. Your choice.

Or would you prefer a nice letter asking you to pretty please, stop being a reckless driver?

I work with a number of LEOs in my day job and have no problem with them. There's always going to be a bad egg or two, just like anywhere else. however, 99.9% of them are truly good people.

My issue is these small town cops who are literally laying for you. I have gotten to where I generally set my cruise to about 5 mph below their limit when approaching these towns. Even better, it finding a way to drive around said towns, but that is not always possible.

I live in Rayne and the PD here is getting terrible about it. They sit on the interstate every morning. I think that a municipality that uses the interstate as a revenue stream should be responsible for the maintenance of that stretch. Cut the grass, pick up trash.

Completely agree. There are some crazy maps of city limits around LA where a tiny arse town somehow annexed 1/4 mike of interstate that’s not even close to town.

speeding is pretty stupid. I love some idiot blowing by me at 75 on a state highway

The problem with speed limits generally is that they completely ignore the fact that drivers have different levels of skill.

A professional Formula One driver can drive safely at speeds most of us would think crazy. But some people are so incompetent they shouldn't be on the road at any speed at all, even when perfectly sober.

Unfortunately it's people in the latter group who often think everyone else is nuts simply because they don't know any better.

Standing in the roads to check brake tags and belts, speed traps, all of that doesn't really seem to be protecting and serving.

This doesn’t bother me one single bit. Keep your shite up to date, wear your seatbelt and don’t speed. What’s so hard about that?

Or they could be non-revenue generating AND the state/local governments can be more frugal with the amount of tax money we already pay them.

They shouldn’t be doing inspection sticker checkpoints and speed traps on the good end of town when people are killing and shooting each other daily in NBR.

The problem I have with this, is that they could (or should) be using their time on more serious "crimes".

North BR is a festering, crime infested shite hole for the most part, but thank God we have 10 officers sitting in front of Towne Center giving out fines for inspection stickers.

Inspection stickers are a joke of a requirement, especially in BR where there are multiple cars seemingly catching fire twice a day on the interstate anyway.

I’d rather give them tax money and incentivize great performance than make them ticket centric

You ever notice state police is always is white neighborhoods writing tickets but they never go into place like NBR. They'd shite their pants if they had to police an place where the likelihood of shite going bad is virtually nill. They dang sure aren't answering domestic calls, burglaries or bar fights. City and sheriff do the hard work while state gets 40% pay raises for their traffic duty. YES I'm jealous. Kiss my arse.

Weird. Those must not be troopers in NOLA.
