I totally enjoyed my 30 years with ethylene plant start-ups and one shut down, in several states and three Middle East/far east countries. I am an operations guy. Every day was a new adventure
retired due to wife's breast cancer at aged 51. I am on track to receive more retirement checks than salary checks.

There are days where I’m not feeling it and just want to sleep in. But I love my job.

I love my boss and co-workers

Nope. and I've worked a variety of jobs. some fun, some not. would not go back to any of them if I won the lottery. got another 30 years to collect a check unfortunately and hopefully not kick the bucket too quickly after calling it quits.

I’ve worked a similar number of years and also currently a Director level. I’ve never looked forward to a Monday like I do a weekend.
My job satisfaction typically about a 5/10 like now but that is a whole lot better than the 2/10 of my previous job from 2021 until late 2023.
I’m considering another change that would be a little more comp and more likelihood of bonus but concerned about getting into another 2/10 situation.
My current job is a good target bonus but one of those PE models where it’s based on meeting Budget which has virtually a zero percent chance of paying out anything. I should have asked more about that in hindsight.

I don't dislike it but I wouldn't do it for free. I really like my boss and the folks I work with. The team I'm on is awesome and it'd be pretty hard to point out a weak link. The only thing in my life that I really have to complain about is my drive to and from work.

I get to do science. I get to save lives. I don't actually have to see the people I help save. I really enjoy work most days, but it is still work so some of the stuff sucks and some days suck,

Would like to know what the people that love their job do?

I like my job. Still, if I ever had a huge windfall such as winning the lottery or so, I would quit.
I like my job, but it is still work.

I like my job. But it's still a job.
For example on Sunday night spending time with my family, I'm not exactly thrilled that I'm working the next day.

Absolutely not, but it pays well and is very flexible, so it is what it is.

I like it more when I’m not there and remember fondly all the bullshite I do with my buddies. Then I go to work and do the bullshite and rent why I was happy to be home and off for the weekend

I like my job fine enough, but I'd rather be doing things with my family.

YES. I love my job.
In fact, when other people see me at work, they tell me I have the coolest job.
I am a camera operator for golf (all tours).

My job is about a 3/10. There are plenty of good people around but ownership is a train wreck. I envy those of you who enjoy the office.

I do not like my job. I’m a lawyer. None of my co-workers like their job. One time I asked the managing partner of my office if he liked the job, and he said, “not usually.” I don’t know of any classmates of mine that like being a lawyer either.

I am a consulting electrical engineer. Mainly DoD and Department of Energy nuclear facilities but also private sector power plants and facilities. It isn't the work or the people, its what I choose to do and I do so as an informed decision...bad days and good are both the result of actions on my part throughout life. That is the secret to life....its yours, own it. Have people fricked with me in my life? Yes. I just don't allow them to do so until its is crippling....I am responsible for my self and my destiny. Even health problems are simply nature doing what it does and are often the result of conscious choices we make. Life is too short to be full of regret and misery and being a victim....I simply refuse to be a victim because everything that has ever happened to me was either unavoidable or the result of a choice or action on my part.....
