I' like the flag in that it stood for the states that acted as a country all on it's on. Nothing to do with slavery or whatever the Klan tries to portray it as
The North is a bunch of hypocrites. And I feel they are just sticking it to us. Along with the suck arse media

The amount of jacked up trucks and Confederate battle flags I've seen in Ohio was about on pace with a lot of Southern states.

A girl i knew in college was from Vermont and when she introduced me to her parents she said her dad was really impressed with me because I always said "Yes sir" or "no sir".
I've heard it is something to do with opinions of the military protocol spanning generations. Not sure if that is true.

New York, sure.
No one gets charged up to tell you they're from Vermont, Delaware, Jersey, etc.

I cant think of one reason why I would want to live in a "northern" state over a southern state. If that is southern pride I guess I have it.

Oh but they do. People from New Jersey are incredibly loud about how proud they are being from Jersey.

Do you even lift, bro?
People from Jersey (and Philadelphia, for that matter) are generally rather loud and proud about it.

Regional competition.

Well depending on what your definition of what Northern is, you're crazy. Just for example, Washington >>>>>> Mississippi.

And what exactly does the north offer that is so great?
thats not really the point, because all regions have their positive and negatives, but southern pride just seem to be the most "out-there" considering i do not see what people are so proud to be apart of?
i understand repping your city or your state, but repping your region just seems fricking weird - which i guess is the point of this thread.

i remember watching the Missing Rings episode of America's Game of the 1998 Vikings.
the amount of hate mail Dennis Green got was sick. There is a small part that shows a few lines of some letters he received.
some damning things said in there. Those fellas up north are pretty harsh it seems like.

Spent the first half of my life in the northeast. No one there uses/respects/is taught "ma'am" or "sir." They hear it so infrequently, when they do hear it used, they think you're fricking with them/are being sarcastic.

I'm proud to be from the lowcountry and my Gullah/Geechie heritage, so yea I guess I'm proud to be from the south.

Half my family is from the northeast and they refer to themselves as Yankees

Yeah it's just never made sense to me. I mean, I guess it's pretty cool that our black dudes are the fastest of the black dudes but not enough for me to go full on Southern boner about it.

The rest of the country is pretty much identical as far as culture goes with the exception of California. The South is like it's own country. It has it's own culture, dialects and each state has some very unique piece of history that ties it in with it's neighbors. You can't go anywhere else in this world and find a place like Louisiana, Mississippi or Alabama.
