If Apple was not allowed to do business with other countries and had to only use American products, etc.. The iphone would cost about $3000.

If Apple was forced to make iPhones in America they would not cost three thousand dollars. It costs apple around $400 to make a newer model iPhone. Do you even think about the shite you try to pass off on here?

That's right! The first thing I thought when I saw that part was.. "I give him credit for being able to market his products".

I "overpaid" for a full zippered hoodie from them a few years ago when the price was $79. It's well made and I like it a lot but given that elevated price level, if I was buying something today and American-made was a priority, I'd get something from Carhartt.

I have the zip version, they have coupons occasionally, I'm pretty sure I got a 20% off deal, so I probably paid $80 for it a couple of years ago. It is made out of cotton fabric that feels like cotton fabric used to feel and is a very high quality piece of clothing. I like the idea of domestically sourced goods, so I don't mind paying a premium for something that will last me a long time.

I have one of their hoodies and find it incredibly uncomfortable.

I was speaking hypothetically because there are metals in the phones that can't even be mined in the US.

are you referring to rare earth elements?
because where those are mined has nothing to do with where the phones are manufactured

They are made using “cross weave” which is how sweatshirts used to be made. When you wash them they do not shrink like other cotton sweatshirts. They are a very heavy weight have bought a few for my husband as he loves to wear them in winter.

The only "rare" earth mine in the US filed for bankruptcy a few years ago and China pretty much has a monopoly on rare metals.

Where something is made is usually not on my list of priorities.

But I was buying a drone for my father in law recently and I had to make sure it was made in America because of all the China spying shite.
Definitely going to be on my radar for future tech purchases
