I know this sounds like some bullshite I made up, I am kind of laughing right now just because when I typed it out it I could imagine the responses it would get, but I am being serious.

And this is another part that will probably get some attempted joke comments, but this is no bullshite.

Okay, having to use a battery powered wheelchair.. There are some places I go that has carpet and it will take a lot of juice out of my battery. Other places with a different type of carpet not so much.

For example, carpet to what are in casinos. Some offices have the same type of carpet and when I am on it I can sort of feel the pull as I go on it. Then there are places, like the front office area of the average office.. That might have just gray carpet that is a harder surface. It's not much different than being on a hard surface.. a floor, cement, etc.

The carpet that would take more battery power, the kind that I could feel grabbing as I go.. Is that better quality carpet? And what is the purpose of having carpet in areas where a lot of people travel? I would assume it cost more to maintain..

I guess the old shag carpet from the 70s and 80s would be pretty rough on it

I like to dream, yes, yes
Right between the sound machine
On a cloud of sound I drift in the night
Any place it goes is right
Goes far, flies near
To the stars away from here

I know an owner of a company that supplies and installs the carpet for a few of the Biloxi casinos. According to him, casino carpet is top of the line due to the amount of traffic it has to withstand and the amount of noise it needs to dampen.

As to why there's carpet in high traffic areas? From my understanding, it's primarily to reduce noise pollution. Aesthetics and insulation also come into play, but it's mainly to reduce noise

Carpet has been out for years in favor of a smooth polished look. Small strips of carpet or a wider entryway rug seems to be making a comeback.

I couldn't imagine having a house with carpet. The only areas in my house that have carpet are in the other two bedrooms. I don't even have a rug because if I would happen to go on the rug and turn around, the wheels grab it and it eventually will get messed up. The same goes for carpet, while I don't go in the two rooms with carpet all the much, I can tell where I have turned around in those rooms just by going over those spots..

But the carpet I am referring to (like in a casino or something), it is too thick for my wheels to mess up. It turns with no problem on it, but it takes more power to do so.

Well, I don't guess you need a carpet runner.
