Where did you grow up? There is no place like home.

I feel like that some. Sometimes it doesn't seem so bad. On the other hand, it is such a hassle to do anything here.

Baton Rouge is a lot like purgatory.

Once I turned 21 and moved off campus, I didn't hate Baton Rouge anymore. I lived in Mid City and had a pretty decent commute most of the time.

Now, I don't live in BR, but commute to work downtown every day and f&%king hate it. I can't wait to move back into town.

I would move to New Orleans in a heartbeat, though, if I were offered a decent job there.

I live just off of college and I’ve never had any problems. There are multiple shortcuts to bypass the college/Perkins intersection from any direction you happen to be coming from.

My commute here is probably about as easy as it would be anywhere. We live 5 minutes from my daughter's school and about 15 minutes from my office. The wife's office is closer.

We pay 12k per year in private school tuition to avoid sitting in much traffic though

Not really.

Mostly because I have never lived in BR.

Baton Rouge sucks. It offers a little more than the rest of the state (besides Nola) but all the crime, traffic and filth make it not worth the trouble. Gameday on 4 or maybe even 3 Saturday’s a year now, make it better but a great gameday is all about who you surround yourself with.

There is a little charm in the red stick area but it’s really not worth it. I’ve said it before, Rural Louisiana without the masses of people, traffic, crime and litter is very hard to beat. Being within an hour or so of Br or Nola is enough for me. That’s personal preference.

I love Lafayette and am glad I’m here to raise my family. But if I was single and could make good money, I’d go to Dallas or Houston.
Or DC, I hate politics but the women in DC are ridiculous. All the interns from all the states, lawd. And Georgetown is close by.

The lakes aren’t that pretty baw. You need to get out more. Life is short. I moved to Austin several years ago and hate myself for not doing it sooner.

Yes. I've been in BR since I graduated from LSU. I don't hate it.
