You can take my place in this one. Just reimburse me the $2k I’ve shelled out for this one and I’ll sub you in.

Yep. These threads bring out the bitches that are too pussy to say no, then do nothing but whine the whole time.

why does it cost so much

I really didnt enjoy my own wedding.

I love being in weddings. But it can get expensive/burdensome if you end up being in multiple in a short time span. I was in 2 back to back and it wore on me.
Also depends on the bride/groom. Most are reasonable as far as making you do stuff, but every now and then there's a high maintenance couple that think they get to have 3 showers, 2 engagement parties, etc.
Suppose I'd also get annoyed if I was asked to be in multiple for the same person. My dad has a friend that has been married 4 times and asked my dad to be in all of them. Dad said he stopped buying wedding gifts for him after the 2nd one and the guy got offended
The shite people think they're entitled to..

No. Back when I was that age where my friends were getting married and I was a groomsman, I usually got to bang one of the bridesmaids. That's why I never brought a date if I was standing in.

It's horrible. I've been in three. The Bachelor party is obviously fun. The rest is miserable.
My sister is gay, so I was in her wedding and walked her down. Being in it was brutal though. Both side had brides maids. I was the only male, and dating someone so I couldn't even make a move on any. Luckily I got out of most of the shite.

You’re so full of shite. I’ve been good friends with this guy for 10+ years, I couldn’t say no. I’m complaining because this is my 4th one in 2 years and they’re bleeding me dry. OT hardasses like you can turn down just about anyone though I bet

Say no of it's too much money. Your good friend would understand. Or just do the events you can.
I skipped a trip to Vegas for a wedding I was in a few years ago. Just couldn't fit it in the budget. The groom understood.

I’m not full of it because I enjoy being in other people’s weddings. And we’ve all be through that time where most of your good friends get married within a few years of each other.
If you can’t afford to go to everything, don’t go. Your friends would rather have you at some of their events instead of none.
And no I haven’t turned anyone down but I’m not the one bitching about being in someone else’s wedding.

summer of 2016 I was in 3 weddings. it was expensive as shite but i had a lot of fun in each of them. got lucky at all three

Every wedding I've served in has ended in infidelity. Even had a bride in one of the weddings that ran off with the groom from one of the others.

I have no problems with weddings or being in a wedding party, but this would piss me off.
Getting gifts at showers, weddings, etc. is great. But that isn't the reason to hold the party, IMO. Especially if you are on your 4th marriage.
