I've been married for over twenty years and, along the way we've picked up some forks and spoons that are of a different pattern that our original set. Also, some pieces from that original set have disappeared. So now, in our kitchen drawer there are four or five different patterns of silverware. Anyone else share in this, or are you all too cultured? Sometimes it really bothers me, while other times I think that it's no big deal.

Married a little over 3 years, so ours all still match. I'm kind of OCD about things like that, so it will most likely always be that way. I may get a nicer set for holidays and special occasions, but it would obviously not be stored with the everyday stuff.

Hell no, I have kids. I am happy we have two or three real glass cups that are still intact. If not for Rotolo cups, I would have nothing to drink with but my hands.

We blend everything into smoothies so this isn't really applicable. But all my straws don't match.

it pretty much matched when we started. I have no idea how we got here though. My house is chaos. Form follows function.

F*ck it.

Yes. Everything matches.

I live alone, so 1 full set of silverware is already a little excessive

Just FYI, OT ballers and other rich folk like myself have 2 sets of silverware. We have the stuff we use every day and we have the stuff handed down to us from grandparents, great grandparents etc. It's real silver and should be polished at least once a year. This silverware is kept in a box somewhere safe so crackheads don't break in and steal it.

I can provide pics later if you like

My SO and I had that for a while. Last year we broke down and bought an entire 8-piece set plus the matching serving ware.

What we had left of my original set we gave to her daughter, and the other mis-matched stuff went to charity.

I'm a man. What the frick do I care about silverware? I don't even care if the carpet matches the drapes.

married for 7 years and at this time it all matches besides the toddler spoons and forks for my son. Now we have an 8 piece setting of fine china we received when we got married that to this day I have no idea what it looks like because we do not host any formal events at our house where fine china would be appropriate.

This seems to be a subject that people feel very strongly about one way or the other.

No, it doesn't match because I've stolen mine from a number of different restaurants.
