No shite...that was the whole point, rocking some nerd in the face while he cowered in the corner.

It is bullying. That is not in question.
Still a fun game.

Bullying is good. It teaches kids how to handle adversity.

Seems to me it’s also a chance for the nerds to get even with bullies by rocking them in the face.
At the end of the day though, it’s just a ball.

No, it isn't.

If you read the article, it's really such utter nonsense. The Canadian think-tank uses these five incredibly vaue metrics established by a social scientist as pillars of oppression and then applies some characteristics of dodgeball to those metrics. The problem is only two of the five really fit and the other three are stretched so far that they are borderline fabrications. And, as I said earlier, the metrics are so vague that any creative person could fit just about any activity under the sun into them. In fact, the suggested actions of the think-tank are more oppressive to the pro-dodgeball people if you really want to use the metrics correctly.

This has nothing to do with today's culture. I'm 33 and dodgeball was getting phased out, for this reason, when I was in high school.

OP left out the fact that this was a "research study." OP also left out the fact that the study was done by Canadians.

I liked drilling the weaker bitches and unathletic girls for the quick outs.
It’s a great representation of life.
The stronger, more athletic, and quick thinking are going to do better in life.

Yet another reason not to change over to euro trash metric system

What is it called when you don’t use the “search” function?
The Droppings
The Droppings

Do they not factor in all the skills it helps to teach?
• Hand-eye coordination
• Agility
• Problem solving
• Teamwork
• Crisis management
My 7-year old daughter is in summer camp and they do dodge ball. We encourage her to play when it's offered.

This was what I loved about the game. I would get a ball and go to the far side of the court. I would push ahead when the players on the other side overextended and blindside them with a headshot while they were looking the other way.
My most memorable was hitting a guy with glasses in the temple. The hit destroyed his glasses and he was bleeding from a cut on his nose. The coach running the game had a big smile on his face so he liked it too.
A lot of bigger guys figured out that they had to keep their head on a swivel at all times. I probably saved some lives in Iraq and Afghanistan.

quote:I remember when I went to college orientation, we played a modified version of dodge ball on the basketball court. I was a baseball player and we just lost to some stud team in the state playoffs and this pitcher from that team was there playing dodge ball too (dude could throw 90 mph). Well this black chick ran up to the ball to pick it up, basically slow as frick, bent over oblivious to everyone else, and that dude crow hopped before ripping that ball straight into her face. It knocked her down too.
I liked drilling the weaker bitches and unathletic girls for the quick outs.
And yes for all yall that are wandering, I tore them cucks up. Our team dominated.

The Silicon Valley nerds are laughing hard.

Yeah, this is probably accurate tbh. We called it killer ball back in the day and it was a blast.

It was always hilarious when the unathletic nerd kids would get their girly throws off. We’d catch it to get them out and then drill them in the face anyway.
