In any case, one of my friends had his gf come over with him. I don't know her, but I don't have an issue with her coming. It doesn't bother me. What did bother me was her constant badgering me for not wearing gloves during my food preparation/cooking. She claims it's very unsanitary and inconsiderate to have company and to not wear gloves over my hands.

This is not going to end well for your buddy. Run and run now. If he doesn't then it may be time for you to run from him

No. The heat from cooking kills any germs and she's an idiot for not knowing this. Plus I wash my hands multiple times so there's no cross-contamination for sanitary reasons and flavor reasons. Now if the food is already cooked, I try and not touch it. I'm not making their plate, so it shouldn't be an issue.

You should never let your friend live it down that he had food delivered to your dinner party. Also, let him know he's dating an idiot and/or a psycho. Because he doesn't know, or he's just as dumb as she is.

What a rude bitch. Don’t ever invite her back. I can’t stand people who try to tell other people what to do.

My husband is a professional cook - he wears them at work, but not usually at home. He wears them at home when dealing with spicy stuff or ground meat or marinades.

But whoever said that Michelin started restaurant chefs don’t wear gloves - is correct - the OP’s guest would be surprised!

didn't allow my buddy to have anything either.

Did he have to ask her to give him his dick back so he could go to the bathroom?

I have actually started wearing gloves frequently when cooking, but typically not to keep germs from my hands off the food. I wear gloves mostly when handling raw meat and for efficiency.

Its fast and easy to slip the gloves off and throw them in the trash and not have to wash my hands multiple times when completing steps of unpacking, washing, seasoning etc, especially when working with chicken or pork and multiple other ingredients.

The other factor tends to be if I'm moving back and forth between the kitchen and the grill/smoker. Its easy to toss 2 gloves in the trash rather than trying to make my way back into the house without getting BBQ rub and raw meat all over the door handles etc.

The scenario you describe, sounds like shes a nut job.

You’re making a big deal over it because you obviously have an issue with it.

Very surprised you got all these down votes from all these anti maskers here. For the record I don't wear gloves either but I wash my hands frequently. Especially when handling meat.

I put that last sentence in as a toss up for you guys!

She was testing both of you to see if either of you was a real man and would take charge. She got her answer.

People have turned into pussies.

Remind her that there are more bacteria cells in/on her body than human cells.

You’re buddy should’ve told her to frick off when she wouldn’t let him eat.

I only wear gloves when I’m pulling pork. That’s it.
