This is why you keep your remote key in your pocket instead of your purse.
A lot of cars can still function without the remote key in the vehicle if it's already cranked.
Mine will stay on, but if you try to change gear out of park, it says frick off and shuts off.

If you stop and start your car for a refill every week, that's 52 unnecessary starts you've put on your vehicle in a year. 260 unnecessary starts if you've driven it for five years like mine. That shite adds up.
Given that a duty life of the engine start up components is like 70,000+ starts I think I’ll be good

I almost never turn my car off when fueling.
It has never been a problem.

It's Louisiana, it keeps you from standing in either 100 or 30 degree weather.
So you actually go and get back in your vehicle while the gas is pumping?

I’ve actually never met a real man that drives a vehicle that doesn’t need the key in it to run.
You drive a secretary’s car. Relax.

That is a lot. I wonder how much longer I can go on my 22 year old Lexus before I have to replace the starter.

Yea. It's a 32 gallon tank. It can take a while. I mean it's literally walking a few feet

Do you turn your engine off when pumping fuel?
I have always turned my engine off while refueling, but after a friend was badly burned at a gas pump, I have had that practice reenforced in my mind.

Not if I'm rolling in the 05 Rubicon.
Just so that I can hear my outlaw country blasting over the other idiots blasting their RAP crap.

I don't like putting my engine through an unnecessary stop and start and depreciating it by that much every time I fill up gas.
Stop it
Your car will fail from a multitude of other issues before any issues arise from starting and stopping it
