No, because it can attract wildlife like bears etc to roads and that is dangerous for them and us.

You mean littering?

No. I don't litter.

The question is would you be annoyed if everyone did this? You got a guy on here saying he throws a banana peel in a ditch every single day. Even if they broke down eventually, imagine if there were hundreds of banana peels or apple cores on the ground. Pretty trashy if you ask me…literally.

it's biodegradable, returns nutrients to the soil, and food for organisms.

it's totally environmentally friendly

But I have no problem with tossing organic stuff onto the earth.

I feel the same way. That’s why when I change the oil in my truck I just dump it in the ditch. I’m just puttng it back where I found it.

No joke, throwing food out of vehicles leads to lots of birds of prey getting hit by cars. Folk throws food. Rodent eats food.... SPLAT Eagle/Hawk sees said splat.... BOOP

Yep, if you are going to toss it get some distance on it so it's away from the road edge.

Dont bait the roadways.

Food attracts rodents and such. Which attracts birds and such. Which leads to hawks, eagles, etc getting hit and killed by cars.

It's pretty easy to not to throw food out your car window.

In my 15 years of driving, the only things I have ever thrown out of a window were a banana peel and gum.

I remember when cigarette smoking was rampant it seemed like the thing to do was empty out your ashtray full of butts at stoplights, never got that but that was disgusting af

Well...duh

That's the scent of biodegradation. It naturally breaks down. Which is why throwing biodegradable material in places not designed for human traffic is no big deal as long as it's not major dumping.

That's why they just leave dead animals on the sides and medians of the interstate. Nature takes care of it on its own.

Biodegradable - cannot be considered to be littering.

My dad would launch them out the car window and yell, “it’s biodegradable!”

McDonald's bag or a dirty diaper, not so much.
Clyde and I think alike on this subject. If I ate in my car, I'd throw my banana peelings into a garden or flower bed. Can't remember the last time I ate anything more than a protein bar or a Kind bar in the car, and that was after exercise. I threw the packaging into a garbage can before driving away. Certainly don't have occasion to eat fruit while driving.

Slylock Fox said not to do this because it would attract animals to roads where they are more likely to die or be injured.
