What if a pissed off / jaded crazy bitch of an ex wife decides to petition for their ex husband to be considered a danger to society. The government busts down his door and takes all his guns?
Seems like a really really slippery slope

Speaking of someone who should have their guns removed for acting irrational. Just his responses in this thread show he has major anger issues and shouldn't be anywhere near firearms. Get some help, weirdo!!!!

So talking about politics causes anxiety? She sounds like a narcissist. As if HER politics is that important she isn't able to "deal" with others views.

Yep, they've paid their debt to society. Should be a free person again.

It would be a judge who would decide wether to issue the order to seize the guns or not, not the cops.

Yes, but the burden of proof us practically zero. Hearsay is enough, and that’s bullshite.

Not saying I agree with implementing this nonsense. Just stating that the police can’t just go take anyone’s guns because they think that person shouldn’t have a gun or might be crazy.

Orwell was a fricking fortune teller.
I wonder what his thoughts were on the 2020 Superbowl.

Hey, I emailed you an offensive joke.

This should come down to Due Process (14A).
2A guarantees the right to bear arms. In order to remove someone's rights guaranteed to them is via due process. Something must be legally adjudicated somewhere before one's rights can be restricted. A felon has had this due process. Someone calling the cops and merely saying someone is a danger is not. I am not an expert on this particular law in CO, but I can see it working, if, and only if, there is clear probable cause and there is a speedy process for the person whose rights have been restricted can have this adjudicated quickly (there is a similar process for 5150 in CA and so-called Green Warrants in other areas). Otherwise, I see a Constitutional fight over this. If they can remove someone's 2A rights merely over something a third party says, why not apply this to 1A or 4A? No need for a search warrant anymore.
