I only use them for horse expenses. I had to teach one of the kids how to write a check yesterday at the show
She's 15

Technology is amazing. I write a check to my kids, they take a picture of it with their phone, instantly deposit it in the bank, then tear the check up. It's like handing them cash.

You can write a check with no money in the bank but not use a debit card
Many places run them like a debit card now, so don't count on it.

What about the skipper of your Yacht and the crew? As well as the crew of the gulfstream jet? Also, the limo driver only takes checks when he is paid monthly.

You should just get PayPal or something. You can transfer the money without wasting the paper. If it's a "gift", there is no charge.

Only time I find myself writing checks is for my kids' tuition

Rarely. When I do, it's usually an electronic check that Capital One creates and mails to my lawn man or a doctor.
Some plumbers, AC repair, etc. ask for a check.
With some small businesses that take both, I will give them the option of taking a check or a credit card. Even though they lose a percentage to take the card, many prefer it to a check. I guess they worry about bounced checks.

Yes. I don't trust or like paying bills online. But that's just bill paying I've never used checks for things I buy at the store.

Yep.
When you have kids in school you have to keep a check book around.

Why the frick not? It's just your bank writing the check instead of you.

If I have to use cash I use Money Orders.

Yep.
My lawn care, pool, and house cleaning all bill me at the end of each month so I send them a check.
Everything else is drafted out my account

I pay my rent via check. To my knowledge, there's no way to pay it online.

Payments for some of the stuff at the kids school is about the only checks we write.
I think they are finally setting things up to where everything will be able to be paid electronically or with credit cards soon.
I put everything possible on credit cards because the reward points are just too valuable to miss out on.

Only to pay my lawn service company and my maid. Wish they would take PayPal, but alas.
