yeah. apart of why I do it myself is because I’m picky. When we had our kids my wife made me take 2 years off from spending 2-3 hours/week doing it. But they are older now, so it’s not a problem.

I was blaming any weed that ever pops up in my lawn on the lawn crew.

I still cut my own. It’s not a big yard. One summer when I was on a crazy work schedule I hired someone, but it’s so annoying to pay for that.

Oil changes is something I have no problem paying for though.

I think my lawn looks like an abandoned house after 5 days of not getting cut during the peak of Summer. Especially if we get rain. How are you making it 10 days?

Whichever relatively fancy flavor of grass I have is relatively slow growing. I can count on one hand the number of times over the last few years that I thought "huh, wish the crew was coming a day or two sooner this week". If I had grass that grew faster, I'd have them come out more frequently.

I can see both sides, but I still cut my own grass bc I can do it in two hours and not pay the high prices. I’m still convinced that the fresh mowed lawn beer you have while admiring your work is one of the most satisfying drinks you can have.

Keep 20 acres cut back around my house. Use an enclosed cab John Deere pulling a ten foot circular cutter. This is tractor therapy for me.

I cut mine at the place I live now. I used to pay someone when I still lived in Louisiana, but ever since I moved away in 2006, I have done it myself.

Unlike the deep south, the weather where I have lived has been mild and this yard only takes 45 min tops to cut. I do not dislike cutting it here, unlike the swampass conditions of Louisiana.

I mow, bag, edge, weedeat myself. Double mow the front yard. Mow N-S then go back over it E-W.

My lawn is the 2019 LSU footbal team of our street.

One of my chores growing up was mowing my parents' yard and my grandparents' yard (next door), the total area was around 8 acres. I did this on an old Cub International tractor with a max mowing speed of around 2-3 miles per hour.

I had more than enough mowing in my youth, I've paid someone to mow, weed-eat and edge for well over a decade now and consider it money well spent.

I cut my own mostly but I have my own crew already cutting grass for my bank clients on the houses I manage for them. That crew also cuts my rental houses and mom's house so if I don't feel like doing mine that week, I throw mine into their route. I usually do that when I don't feel like edging my long arse driveway.

My yard is a little over an acre, but my ZTR is a commercial unit running 12 mph, so it takes about 30ish minutes. I cut it twice per week because I can't stand my lawn not looking like a fairway.

I cut my own. Having 5 acres and a zero turn Hustler commercial grade, makes it like driving the Indy 500

Lucky you. I can see my grass already growing the next morning after I just cut it.
