Except that they can. Regardless, my point is that not wearing shoes has a functional basis, which you seem to be arguing against.

Yeah. We're not teenagers, throwback frat boys, or wannabe "sportsmen." We don't generally walk around in ballcaps.

I'll admit that going to frick yourself would be self-serving while still inviting you to do so.

No, because it's an idiotic tradition that women either do not or should not care about.

I'd say a limited functional basis. And again, it's incredible how we survived all these years without removing our shoes. I don't know how people who routinely entertain manage. I mean you can't have a party with a bunch of assholes walking around in their socks.

I don't think this is the proper thing to do, in fact I think you are bordering on poor etiquette here

I love how people take one 15-min long internet conversation and make these little grave judgments.

My core group of friends consists of Marines and a few Sailors. We even have an Air Force guy, but everyone that comes to my house for football is current or former military and most are/were officers. Nearly everyone represents their team with a hat, some don't and it doesn't matter to me. I don't walk around my own house with a hat on, but I do wear one occasionally, especially when mowing. I don't take it off just because I walked in to grab some water. I'm not a Naval officer, so I guess I don't know how to class it up like you, but wear a hat all day in my house as long as you take off your nasty shoes.

Well, you're also Navy, so that's a pretty fair assumption to make.

Fair enough. I'll take my shoes off if you at least agree to not wear a Buckeye's cap anywhere on my street. Otherwise you can wear a respectable cap as long as you stay in the basement/rec room.

It's not like sanitation is a live or die proposition. It's more often a "decreasing the likelihood of getting sick" proposition.

I mean can take a bite out of uncooked beef, and know you'll probably live. But since there is a fair chance you'll get sick, it's best to cook it first.

I'll take it off as soon as I hit your driveway, even if I'm in my car. I have to wear it everywhere else to piss off the Bamas.

No way. I've earned it by listening to every SEC fan from here to Camp Lejeune for the last 10 years.

Me wearing a hat indoors simply cant offend someone "because it does". Why?

I can't say it offends me, tbh. If it offended me, I'd do something about it. It just makes the person doing it look foolish.

Look, this just happened:

Saturday night, we went Copeland's for dinner.

We got their about 7PM. A large party came in to eat, about 20-25 people. 3-4 of guys sat down and kept their ballcaps on the entire meal.
They looked just like you'd expect; t-shirts, shorts, overweight, etc.

Now I get that Copeland's isn't the same as high tea with the queen, but it is a restaurant with silverware and cloth napkins. Damn son, act like you've been there before.

Actually for smoking Bama I'm willing to overlook past Buckeye beefs.
