Yes. I send out a TON and I LOVE it.
I write a personalized greeting to each recipient/family as well.
I don't expect them in return, but sincerely enjoy receiving them.

We love Christmas cards and send around 200 every year. We draw our own and have them printed and its fun but tough. 200 envelopes dont address them selves. Every year I always post a copy on the boards I frequent so ya will get one of our cards that way this year.
