Do you respect people who take PTO “because they have it”
I also refuse my company's 401k match and buy my own health insurance.

So you evaluate him negatively for using the compensation you gave him to entice his employment.
You sound like a huge dick.

It’s telling that is what you think are the only things to do when not at work.

PTO is different from sick leave. I still lose a few days of PTO every year that do not roll over, but am getting better. You can’t take it with you.
At my old office the women would take all their sick leave at the end of the year if they were out of PTO.

It's not your business what he does with his day off. And you're an a-hole boss if you judge him for using an earned benefit.

I’m pretty loose with my guys, but if it’s the final week of a major project or milestone and they want to take a key week off with no notice, there’s going to be some questions and accountability involved. Also, good luck with a promotion if you try and pull this.
How much PTO do fast food workers even get?

Congrats on the work, I guess. We live one time. I suggest you start seeing what you'd like to see before the end.

Guy at my office took today off because his PTO balance is about to reach the cap. My PTO balance stays at the cap because I show up to work.
That’s shite women do. What’s he going to do, sit at home, eat bon bons, and watch General Hospital?
The stuff of middle management legends

This is BabyTac's shtick. Cease and desist.

I more respect people (like myself) who are their own boss and don't have to live in this realm.

I’ve never had PTO benefits. Every job I have ever had was based on my production. If I wanted or needed time off I took it. And went wherever I wanted in my company vehicle

He has work to do and he’s choosing to not do it for now reason. If you are on vacation, please enjoy your time off. If you are sick, take a day off. It’s your PTO, use it. Taking a day off when there is shite to do for no reason, shows me you won’t get the job done when it’s nut cutting time

I have unlimited PTO. I don’t abuse it, but I’m damn sure not afraid to use it. I get my work done. My boss isn’t a low-self esteem pussy who micromanages everyone. I’ve never missed a deadline and he couldn’t care less when or how I get my work done as long as it’s done. He pays me for the job not for the hours.

If you never take PTO how are you supposed to flex on your friends and family with a Christmas card featuring a photo from your family vacation to Europe?

I’m with you Mingo on this.
And shite at home. If you have to shite at work you haven’t been potty trained properly. Simple as that.

I take real time off and have traveled all over the world. What I don’t do is let my work sit there so I can frick off for a day for no reason
