I would take every hour of PTO if it doesn't roll over or cash out. What's the point of maxing out your PTO and still not taking off work? Leaving PTO on the table to expire at the end of the year is just working free days for however many days you don't take off.
This is the correct answer unless the person is that guy that lives for the work they do. If that is what keeps them going each day then have at it

Pathetic. You should at the very least be asking for a pay DECREASE, since you are soaking all those hours up.
Due to state and federal minimum wage laws, I don’t think McDonalds can legally pay him any less than they are now.

I don’t think that a person’s use of their PTO has ever been a criterion for determining whether I respect that person.

Paid Time Off. it’s the modern term for vacation days.
If that is the case, my last vacation, where I got to do what I wanted to do (hence not the driver, maid, short order cook, etc) was a long weekend to Charleston, SC in the 1990's.
(I did not get paid for it)

At my plant we call it “pussy time off”
Real men don’t take days off

BTW, you’ve been in this thread making a complete arse of yourself
That is his thing
Not sure if all of it is trolling, or he / she actually believes it.
I am guessing it is all trolling because if not, he/ she has the common sense as a sack of marbles.

My goodness this sounds like a miserable life. This is a statement of a man that does not have a single hobby or friends/family.
I use 1 week for the beach, and 2 weeks +/- for hunting or just spending time at the camp.

Not only that, he clearly sees himself as superior to this employee and pretty much everyone else for that matter.
That’s a sign of his fragile ego and self loathing. The only way he can feel good about himself is by looking down on and shitting on others.

This will keep me at the cap

I usually end the year with a couple days left over that I hold in reserve for emergencies or illness. But otherwise I'm using the rest of those suckers!

Yes, Boomers worked their asses off.
That's why Boomers are rich.
Young people refuse to work, won't even return to the office.
That's why young people are broke and will always be broke.
Funny how that works isn't it?
Muh, Boomers just work work work.

It's sort of a non issue and no one's business. If they are entitled to it, they are entitled to it and if you cannot carry over the particular days, then more power to the guy.

Having loyalty to a company that would can you tomorrow to save the bonus of the big guys is retarded.

Once you hit 160 hours at my company you are maxed and can’t accrue anymore, I enjoy taking time off but if I ever get to the 160 mark you damn right I’m taking it.
There is a reason they give it to you, sometimes you need a break

I’m taking every hour of my PTO. But you do you, company man.
Posted on 10/23/26 at 12:37 pm to Mingo Was His NameO
People work to live the don’t live to work. As long as deadlines aren’t being missed there is zero issue with taking PTO.

I'm not sure what kind of work you do, or don't do, but there is always work sitting that needs to be done. In a real job, the work doesn't really ever stop, so you just have to put it down and let it be from time to time.

Guy at my office took today off because his PTO balance is about to reach the cap. My PTO balance stays at the cap because I show up to work. That’s shite women do. What’s he going to do, sit at home, eat bon bons, and watch General Hospital
Everything about this screams low level worker bee

Still unsure why you think its okay to pry into what someone does with their PTO is your business. I have never told my boss why i needed PTO. Maybe he's going somewhere for a long weekend and didn't feel like it was your business to tell you? - Probably the case, because you sound like an a-hole boss.
And if you are his boss, why did you not deny his PTO request? Allowing someone to take off of work on a Friday, then bitching about it on here when you could have done something about it is wild.

I take it when I need it.
I can cash out the excess at the end of the year so I win either way.
