They're good at memorization and faux compassion. Critical thinking not so much.

My Dad was a preacher, as were both Grandfathers, most Uncles and Cousins , females in the family married ministers.

If you do the actual job in a small to medium size church its a tough job. Remember that everyone will come to you with their problems, emotional, physical, financial and this is your flock its hard not to feel responsibility.

Like a small town HS football coach, you have to do EVERYTHING and be EVERYTHING to EVERYONE.

those jobs you dont do for the $$
the mega church fricks are CEO's and fundraisers and have lost contact with ministering

It’s not about the belief itself but the vocation

Not anymore than many others.

Yes, but run of the mill doesn't pay much.

Exactly what I thought. Condescension disguised as inquiry. What a charlatan.

generally, yes

Or Do you see them as lazy?

intellectually or physically?

if you're referring to intellect, i would say intellectually fearful moreso than lazy. if you look at the bible objectively and without your mind already made up, I don't see how any sane adult can believe in it. that said, most of us were indoctrinated as children, and it takes a toll on you emotionally to confront whether or not the stuff you've believed your whole life is bullshite.

A guy I went to high school with became a youth minister at a mega-church around here. Easiest job in the world, pay was insane and it included a new car every year.

The scam worked great for him until that fateful day when the news headline read "Local Youth Pastor Arrested with Hooker." Good times came crashing down for him after that. Somehow his hot wife stayed married to him.

My preacher is what most Christians would call a pastor...he loves people. From the time that man rise until he retires, he is visiting the sick in hospitals, mentoring kids in school (public), encouraging addicts in treatment centers, all the while making phone calls to shut-ins and the elderly.
He also has to find time to sit on every church committee: outreach, financial, children's, building and grounds, missions, transportation, etc.

Easy? No.
Lazy? No.

Dedicated? Yes.

Do what? I was outlining an “easy” job in relation to pastors as I was asked. I wasn’t speaking for the entire vocation. Learn to read.

I asked about the definition of an easy job in general since it was apparently not a “religious thread.” We all know where you are going with this thread. Your shite is tired.

No. You asked about the definition of an easy job IN A THREAD about vocational preaching jobs. Nowhere in your question did you say “in general”.
