Do you reduce, re-use, and, most pertinently, RECYCLE?

I heard stories about how it might be in vain, but I still try and do my part.

Do you?

Yes, yes and yes.

I also pick up y'alls trash on the beaches. Because birds and sea life can't do it.

Stop wasting!

Thank you.

I try not to buy much packaged shite and I keep pretty much everything in glass containers. Make a lot of aluminum waste, though. I don't want to drive 90 minutes to drop off a quarter's worth of cans for them to probably end up in a landfill anyway.

shite no. I dump it all into the lakes and rivers. Most of it sinks and what doesn’t just floats away, never to be seen again.

Yeah, the city gives us trash, recycle and compost bins. Have separate trash and recycle cans in the kitchen. Never use the compost other than for leaves

Yes

Not for the things most folks associate tho

Check the local taxes where you live. I have often seen where 1/3 of the taxes you pay go to the landfills where your trash winds up. I hate paying taxes that are wasted when things could easily be done to bring down the bite out of your wallet.

My other pet peeve is "hidden" taxes on your bills like internet and utilities.

100 utility bill
75 is use
25 is these knick knack taxes (usually under 5% each) for non defined stuff

We save our plastic grocery bags and use them for other tasks

Put them in small bathroom garbage cans as trash bags or carry my lunch items for work in one

There, done my part to save the world…..

Same. I also keep Amazon boxes and more recently my child's diaper boxes for storage purposes.

I also have a new years ritual where I take all my clothes hanging in the closet and reverse the clotheshangers, and then as I wear stuff and wash them I hang them normally. At the next new years anything that still has the clotheshanger in reverse is something I never wore in that entire calendar year and then I have to take that group of clothes and make a decision of whether I really need to keep it or donate it. I keep all my novelty and sentimental stuff. Sweaters made by my great grandma that I never wear, I'm never donating that. A leather LSU jacket, leather Saints jacket, leather Cowboys jacket given to me by my uncle who was a Cowboys fan that passed away so even though I hate the Cowboys I'm never parting with that, my letterman jacket, etc. Anything aside from those I end up just donating.

I do.

Having worked for one of the major carpet manufacturers years ago, I see what they do with billions of pounds of recycling.

Plastic bottles in turf and current Everstrand carpets.

Recycled metal in a number of ceramic tiles.

PVC often recycled into vinyl flooring.

I’m perfectly capable of picking up trash on the beach myself.
