Last man standing free-for-als was fun too.
We used to have a game type called Terminator where it was one person, given the best paintball marker, versus everyone else. It was usually a tradition for birthday boys, as they’d wear a plastic vest with a piece of duct tape on it, and hitting it was the only way to get the Terminator out.
Now, if you think that sounds fun, it’s probably because you’ve never been the Terminator, and hunted down by a dozen of your friends and family who have zero intention of shooting anywhere near the tape

always have wanted to try it. Anybody on the OT play? Any advice or tips for beginners?
Advice? Start getting in shape. Having a cool gun and gear is nice and all, but if you’re sucking for air 2 min into a match it gets difficult. It is a lot of fun, but it’s a workout. Oh and wear sleeves. Getting hit in the wrist/hands is no bueno

Make sure you freeze your paintballs to send a message.

Played growing up but haven't played since 10th grade. Had a few thousand dollars in equipment and won multiple speedball tournaments.
Tips depend on what kind of field you're playing but will say if you can upgrade to using nitrogen as opposed to C02, it's worth it. Also not sure what's out there now but like with golf, using mid-high quality paint is better than the dirt cheap stuff, beginner or not.

My FIL is pretty big in to it. Don't know if he still plays much these days but when my wife and I first got together he would travel pretty regularly to big scenario games in different states.

I played from the 80s to about 2000. Migrated from an original NelSpot/Daisy tree marking gun to an Apex pump sniper rifle to Tippman SMG.
Worked all over the east coast and carted my gear to places from Massachusetts to Miami. Atlanta was a great area to play back then.
Was an awesome workout and a lot of fun.
But it was very expensive - especially when the gun actions shifted from pumps to semi-autos or even full autos. My interest faded as the game shifted from great shooters with superior movement skills to sloppy paint sprayers.
Be in good shape and hydrate at every opportunity.
Find a group of local players to hang out with.
Buy paint in bulk with your buddies.
Read a lot before buying anything.

I played a lot of tournament speedball in the late 90’s early to mid 2000’s then quit then played for fun again, quit again and the last time I saw the field was probably 5 years ago. I owned 40+ guns in that span (trading used to be a big thing). I still have a lot of my gear and even a few guns I built. It was a damn good time but isn’t that big of a thing anymore. Watch the movie/documentary Push, that was the pinnacle of paintball imo
This is a old pic so some stuff has been sold in the past couple years but I still have a good amount
I built this a couple years ago and will probably never let go of it

I used to play at a field called The Combat Zone. It was in Livingston Parish off Hwy 16 and Calmes Road. It had 50+ acres with many scenarios. One that stands out to me was The Village which had many huts and a bus in the middle of the field that would turn into a game called "Hostage". I think it also had a blow up field in the front of the facility which aimed at more of the "pro" players and many other wooded area/games.

I shot a man with a paint ball gun, just to watch him dye.

Played recreational woodsball for several years into my late 40s.
Really enjoyed it. Was pretty much team vs team until one was eliminated.
Tippmann A-5 with e-trigger. Still have it somewhere.
There are still some speedball fields here... not sure about woodsball.
