Sometimes the value doesn’t lie in the education you’re getting but the one that you’re avoiding. I know in Houston this is a especially true.

We do and will through middle school. There are multiple solid options for elementary school in Shreveport, but middle school options are lacking. We have a few nice options for public HS as well. Hopefully, they want to go to those schools.

Have you seen the sports rosters at De La Salle?

I promise you 99% of those kids dont live uptown and dont pay tuition?

All 5. Best investment we ever made. I think if you're a product of private school, you're probably more likely to send your kids to private school, especially with the horror show that public education has become.

Omg. How dumb can you be??

Everyone knows the ditch must be at least three feet wide and lined with quartz stones

you don’t have to live uptown to go to DLS, but I’m sure most athletes from impoverished neighborhoods get ‘scholarships’ or highly discounted tuition

they’d be demolished

We have two in private school in BR. One will be senior next year and one in 6th grade. Right at $35k total for tuition and fees.

BR needs to do away with the transfer busses, and have kids go to school in the districts in which they live.

schools like Tara, and Woodlawn would be much better schools if that were the case

An ACT of 32 doesn’t bring a full ride anymore. Let’s be practical about what colleges are doling out. Schools like Bama and Arky are giving plenty of dollars to out of state kids w decent GPA and/or test scores. Full rides are nearly gone and are reserved for the ACT score of 34-36. LSU gives practically nothing after TOPS dollars are awarded. Both of my kids went/are going out of state and after scholarships and Arky’s 90% out of state tuition waiver, I’m paying about $9k per year more than LSU offered after TOPS, and only about $6k per year more than private school tuition. That’s a win for me and something I consider a significant ROI on my investment in my kids’ education.

I’d like to (naively) believe that private schools allowed me to have some limited control over what my kids were exposed to at school, both socially and academically. Even the private school faculty are woke, so we as parents can’t rest on our laurels simply because we pay for private school.

$15K the last two years, $20K starting next year. This doesn't include 'after care' and all the other things

Do you pay for private school for your kids?

Nope. We left Louisiana.

My child goes to a great public school now. It was rated in the top 30 in the whole state of Tennessee, and second best in our area.

I live in Louisiana and my kids, well one graduated and the other will graduate next year, and they both go/went to one of best Charter Schools in the entire state....so there's that

However, My daughter did attend an all girls Catholic School for 2 years but she didnt like it and went back to her former school...that moved saved us $12k a year
